Weekend binge

The weekend are very hard for me as I am always at the pub I had 10 pints and a take away on Saturday night which has destroyed my hard work through the week.

Any tips on what beer/ alcohol is lower in calories as I still enjoy having a drink. Any lower calorie food that could replace my take away ?

Vodka with low sugar mixer. Take a protein bar with you to eat on the way home.

    That's a tough one.

I haven't had alcohol in over a year (!) until this past Saturday when I went out with a friend. As I was pre-planning my alcohol for the evening, I was shocked to see just how many calories is in alcohol! When I do drink, it's usually white wine but one glass was around -150 +. I allowed myself 2 glasses of wine and a Smirnoff ice. Total calories for 3 small drinks - 528! I couldn't believe it! I went over my allowance by around 100 but I decided to just go for it since I rarely go out and it was a one off..

I'd suggest limiting your beers and trying 'healthier options', I hear vodka is a lot lower in calories than your average alcoholic drink so perhaps try that with lemonade or diet pepsi or something. Of course, still have the odd beer or two but in moderation. I imagine 10 beers would definitely set you over your calorie goal.

    Best of luck!
  • My advice is to order a glass of water between each drink. I often end up drinking more because I am thirsty. It helps me to enjoy my wine longer because I am not guzzling it trying to quench my thirst.

As the previous poster! It really helps. I am trying hard to cut down on wine and drink generally. Weekends are hard but during the week is easier... I now try and fit in one gin and tonic and no wine into my daily calorie allowance and sometimes skip it entirely. I use the deficit to create an allowance for the weekend. Early days but I think, for me as cutting down slowly but I am convinced this is the right way to go.... My go-to drink at parties and pubs is white wine with soda water..
