Quest bar

Options
So I've read several times about the Quest bars and I have to say I was impressed with the nutritional value of the bar plus it tastes good and has a huge amount of fiber in it. Chocolate brownie had a whopping 19 grams of fiber plus 20 grams of protein, 170 calories. I'll be buying more of these!

Yes but beware they just recently changed the ingredients. And according to many the change wasn't a good one, although I haven't tried the new formula yet.

I don't have the new brownie formula in the store I work at yet (vitamin shoppe). I kept a bar I had of the old formula to see the changes

I tried a Double Chocolate one with the old formula and enjoyed it, so I bought a bunch of flavors but they're all the new corn fiber version. I was especially looking forward to the Cookies & Cream, as well as S'mores, as I had heard a lot of great things about those flavors. I had both and I wasn't impressed; they weren't awful, but I would never buy them again. I'm going to try to find the old versions of them to compare.

I've been hearing a lot about alternatives to Quest now that people are unhappy with the change. Mainly Oh Yeah Victory bars, MariGold bars, Dale's Raw Protein bars, and Six Pac bars. Anyone try any of those brands? I want to try them, but I'm not so sure I want to commit to ordering a box yet.

If you want to check out a new bar I'd suggest Victory by Oh Yeah! or Gourmet Cheesecake bars.. Don't remember who makes them (ANSI?). They have slightly more sugar in them but they both taste good and have high fiber/high protein.

I'm beginning to think that Quest slips some "Cultigens" in their bars.
The fanaticism I see on this board verges on the curious and sometimes hilarious...

If you pay $5 to get 20g of protein...well... that's $25/100g protein which is more expensive than LOBSTER!

which one would you really rather have?

Amazon sells them for <$28 per 12 ($2.33 per bar). Why pay $5.00? I bought a sample at GNC for about $2.20 a bar.

I find them too expensive. Luckily, I don't "need" convenience snacks, so I switched to having some greek yogurt as my afternoon snack. If I had to grab a snack while out and about, I'd probably reconsider the quest bars.

Bamm!! I love your word choices; so accurate and so true!!

OP, use the search bar and you'll see a couple hundred queries on Quest bars. This topic is beaten to death.

If eating processed convenience foods truly make you curious (as opposed to eating whole foods) then you should learn how to make your own protein/fiber bars for a lower cost, better flavor and texture, and without the preservatives and fillers.

    Silicone Molds:

There are form fitting silicone molds in bar shapes on amazon to make the molding process easier. You don't have to manipulate the mold as much. Just press down with a spoon.
