Homedics Scale
weight: 244.0
% fat: 34.5
% water: 44.8
% muscle: 33.2
% bone: 2.9
Kcal: 3692 (Harris Benedict activity factor of 1.61 (between moderately to very active))
Tanita Scale
weight: 244.6
% fat: 33.2
Internet calculator:
% fat:34.32
BMR: 2288 * lightly active (1.375) = 3146
Looks like the weight and %fat is OK for both.
But if I add all the % together on the Homedics I get: 115.4% total??? What? Why?
Also the kcal are off for me because I'm not so active... I think some finer settings would be good.
Anyway the big question is how to look at weight, fat, water, muscle, bone rations, any ideas?
Regards,
Markus

What you want to do is use the % age off body fat to find your total lbs of fat.
Thus...34.5% of 244 is: 84.18 lbs of fat.
Your fat free mass is then the remainder: 244 - 84.18 = 159.82. Lbs
Of that fat free mass, 44.8% is water, and 33.2% is muscle. The rest is blood vessels, organs and such.
So, your goal in losing scale weight will be to lose from the 84.18 lbs of fat while maintaining the 159 lbs of lean mass.1 -
Thanks this clears things up.

Ignore everything on the scale readout except weight. BIA scales are terribly inaccurate for anything else. Below is a good writeup on how/why they are inaccurate.

Yep, ignore everything except weight.0
