Small calorie intake, yet weight gain?

ive been on low calories for a while, this past week I've eaten very little, my lowest 75 calories in a day and the highest calories 928. I do total calories, not net calories. I've gained half a pound since Sunday though! Wth?! Ps I also have sedentary exercise and I drink 2 liters of water a day

What is your weekly calorie then?

MFP recommends a minimum of 1200 cal per day to ensure adequate nutrition. Please take another look at "how" you're trying to lose weight. Check out the sticky threads at the top of each forum for tons of info!

Weight loss isn't linear even with unhealthily low calorie intake.

Looking at your diary, you need to eat more or logging is very inaccurate.

Please, please do not continue to eat so little. You're hurting yourself and it won't lead to sustainable weight loss.

Please tell me 75 calories is a typo? Also before addressing any other issues you may have 928 calories is well below the recommended daily intake for a woman, you should be eating at MINIMUM of 1200 a day, or you will be setting yourself up for health problems further down the line. Why are you eating so few calories? Also you should be working to net calories as that is how MFP is set up, and if you are burning large amounts and working to total not net you could be eating way under your calories (even more so than you are now).

As for gaining half a pound; weight fluctuates daily, sometimes by as much as 5lbs (due to water weight and other factors), also for women some find their TOM causes bigger fluctuations. And less than a week really isn't enough time to say for definite that you've gained weight. You need to give it more time and be a bit more patient, however if you are eating at a deficit as you say you are, you should lose weight in the long term.

A lot of people are going to question your logging, are you weighing everything? Do you use a food scale? Do you log accurately?

My main piece of advice though would be to start eating more and stick to the goal MFP has given you, VLCD aren't supported here and there is a reason for that....

1/2 a pound is a normal fluctuation. Eating less than 1200 without strict medical supervision is not good and is basically the start of an eating disorder. Eating so little encourages your body to get energy from wherever (not just fat) including muscle & organ tissue. You can lose weight eating much more than you are now.

You are going to come to a point where you will be in a lot of trouble. Your organs will start to shut down as you drain your body of all it's nutrition. You cannot and will not survive on so little calories for long.

You must bump up your calories to minimum 1200/day just to stay healthy. Health first and then weight loss second which at 1200/ day you will lose.

    Good luck

Not a typo, it was 75. I'm very accurate, measuring my sticks of celery to the inch and doling out dressings in 1/2 tsp cups. I make sure nothing sneaks by me!

Hard to believe you are not losing weight when you are starving yourself. Something is not jiving.

She just made another post saying she "only" lost 10 pounds in two weeks. Troll or eating disorder, neither is a good choice. :worried:

I thought there other post sounded troll like, this one is even worse.

I got to assuming trolling because I don't want to believe there are people like this.

    So sad.

If you eat 75cal of celery and feel full you definitely have something wrong. Eating disorder or similar.
