    ...is fleeting.

    if you're lucky, what comes after that is intimacy.

    the deep, confident knowledge of someone other than yourself - that becomes so intermingled that you have a hard time separating yourself from your partner. it's knowing that you're going to hurt them, and they're going to hurt you and loving them anyway and moving through life as a team with common goals and a shitload of respect for one another.

    it's also this song, and this video, which i've seen a million times and still DESTROYS me.

    go ahead and try to get through a viewing of that without getting a lump in your throat.

    That feeling that makes your heart warm and your fingers tingle with the urge to reach out & make contact.
    It is the sensations of falling and of flying all rolled into one confusion that eventually settles into comfort and joy or dissipates completely leaving a hollow where it had been.
    When returned, it is knowing that no matter what, this person is your person, and you are now equally theirs.

    You have to first love yourself first to know how to truly love another
    but love is healthy, reciprocated, unconditional, encouraging, patient & kind... qualities that aren't easy to come by in our selfish culture. That doesn't make it impossible. Don't ever give up!
