migraine after working out? Anybody?

I use to think I just hated exercise always trying to get out of gym class in Jr High and all. Now I think there much more to my hate. I have suffered from migraines most of my life but recently I've started to become aware of what triggers them and unfortunately working out is one of them . Does anybody eles here have this problem? Do you guys have any tips or tricks for this?

Hydrate....make sure your using correct form on your spine when lifting weights so you don't pinch any neck or lower back because that can cause or aggrivated migrants from swelling.0

Yup...and you might try doing up a sweet potato, eat it half hour or so before...or eat half, and eat the other half after your workout....I don't know the science, but someone suggested it for my afterworkout headaches, and it has worked for me! Good luck xo

I used to take medication had migraines since I was younger but what works for me is Excedrin...0

I have a positive effect from working out. My migraines have dropped from one a week to a few a year from working out. Once I had stopped working out an d my migraines returned. Returning to exercise, the frequency lessen significantly. I take sumatritan when they occur.

For me.. it was a lack of carbs.
If I had under a 100 grams of carbs, i would get physically ill and got migraines. Once I started to eat 100+ of carbs, the migraines and being physically ill went away.

I have had horrendous migraines from hot yoga, and have given up on it because I cannot go through the pain and neurological symptoms again. I occasionally get migraines from running (proper aura, throwing up, pain, slurring words migraine, rather than headache. I worked out it was a combination of flickering sunlight on the path as I ran and tensing my neck and head muscles, so causing tension across my forehead and down my neck. I overcame this by wearing a baseball cap and shades, and by opening my mouth really wide (like a yawn) at least once a K. Since doing this, I've not had any problems.
I'd recommend trying to narrow down exactly at what point of a workout you are being triggered. Do you get immediate feedback/aura when your migraine is starting - for me, I know when I've triggered even though the pain won't start for a few hours more? If you're lucky and can pull it back at the immediate point the trigger happens, then experiment with it until you work out your edge. You can then make the adjustments you need to enable you to carry on.0 -
