I've lost 30 lbs since starting in April. I dropped a pants size or 2. I am having problems losing my stomach. It might be my carbs. I work on abs every day -every other day. I eat 1200 calories. Any advice please.

Are you taking measurements? To have dropped 2 pants sizes then I'm pretty sure you've lost quite a few inches off your waist. What about pictures? I'm betting there is more of a change then you realize.

Abdominal exercises are great for strengthening your abs, but they don't remove the fat sitting on top. Spot reducing doesn't exist. Eat at a deficit and your body will decide where it wants to remove the fat from; eventually it will get to your stomach ****(but as I said above, I bet there already is a change in your stomach, you just don't see it since you see yourself everyday...this is why measurements and pictures are important).

@AmyBethBoothroyd - Do you have any full body pics from 30 lbs ago uploaded to your profile? And do you have a more current full body pic uploaded or can you upload a new one? Or optionally, you can post a picture from before you lost 30 lbs and a current picture in this thread. Then other forum users can point out the differences they see. We are often much harder on ourselves and it sometimes takes a third party to help us see the minor changes. Of course if your not comfortable with any of that, that's okay too. :flowerforyou:

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. The pic of me in black top (with my cousin) is right before I started on my journey on glow. The tie die pic is me this weekend at the county fair. Any advice please.

Just keep working to lose weight. It seems like you're genetically predisposed to hold weight in your torso. In this case, my advice is to just stay the course.

Yup it's genetics! I've lost 22 pounds and my stomach and thighs, and calves ARE smaller but they are still stubbornly holding on to fat! I look bony everywhere else! Sometimes there's really not a whole lot we can do about it and we just have to accept it. But don't give up. I'm sure your much happier than you once were w/ your body. Keep going and hopefully, one day soon, what you are doing will eventually make it's way to your tummy. Good luck!

Don't lose hope! As another poster says, you cannot spot reduce, despite what all those ads tell you. And if you gain weight first in a certain area, I guarantee that will be the last place you see it come off. Just stick with it. So many people say "I do 300 situps a day and I still don't have a washboard stomach, I don't get it". But really, it simply and ONLY comes down to total fat loss. Myself, I gain first in the b**bs and hips. I lose my b**bs fast, but my hips ... that will always, always be last thing to go. I'm a pear. You're an apple. Genetics work that way.

My tummy is the worst. I have been doing abs workouts for the last three weeks this is my 4th week. I walked passed the mirror today and thought wow it's going down. I have never had stomach muscles even when I was 9st. But now I can feel them it's not just flabby fat. Keep up your great work x

Have you thought about cutting out the white carbs ( bread, rice, sugar, flour and pasta) and eating whole wheat or whole grains? The white stuff is what turns to sugar. And white pasta is like glue to your intestines. Try that for a while and see if that'll help.

Thank you! Yes I'm an apple. Genetics suck lol. I haven't lost my chest. I think that's here to stay. For the most I've cut the carbs and whole wheat bread. I'm just going to keep plugging away. If any one would like to friend me please do. Any more advice is appreciated! :)

That's where I carry most of my weight too. After two babies and two csections it's even worse. I've got a long way to go yet. Just happy to loose weight from anywhere at the moment. Keep going xxx
