Newbie seeking advice

hello my names Katrina ,
I'm seeking help with my recent weight gain . Growing up I have always been thin with lean muscle because I loved action sports. I was always outside but now that I'm 21 ...I started drinking beer. I look in the mirror and I feel disgusted with myself how could I let my body get this way.. I still have average body type but it's just not me I don't feel myself anymore. The past few weeks I've changed my diet slightly and got a membership to planet fitness.. I do about 45 minutes cardio and another 20-30 minutes strength more so focusing on my thighs and arms ... Please help I am new to this weight loss and building muscle at the gym thing.. Looking for easy recipes (I'm new to cooking) and exercises that has given you all results in the core and thigh area thanks
