Do you trust takeaway nutritional info?

I'm just wondering how accurate the nutritional info provided is at some takeaway places. For example subway or salad places that make it in front of you.. sometimes i go to different stores and the amounts they use can really vary which makes me wonder how much the calories can vary. So my question is do you trust the info provided especially since we all know how important it is to weigh everything?

Anywhere I go to eat where I don't prepare the meal myself, I take the nutritional information and add 10% of its calories on top of what it already is.

I do and then add 10-20%. Works fine for me, but I don't go out to often and hardly ever get delivery. I've had delivery once in 6 months and that was when we moved... I trust it as much as anything else that has a claim. Try it and if it works, it works...

I don't, but I eat out as little as possible, so when I do I don't really care and will use whatever info they have available.

yes - in that, that is what I log - because that is the info I have.

Do I believe that the calories are often / always different to those stated - yes. But as long as I'm making progress I'm going to continue as I have been. If progress stops then I'll have to tighten up on my logging - and looking at these meals will be a way to do that.

I eat out regularly and use the published nutritional info or a best guesstimate.

It has yet to hinder me in any way.

As above, it would probably be one of the first things to look at if progress was hindered.

If you don't eat out regularly, then even if it's not 100% accurate, it won't matter in the long run. I usually go with the numbers given.

Bahaha... no. I've done food service and your food is not weighed. If you are not handed the box used to measure it, chances are the person in back went 'this is why we wear gloves, is it not?' and put a literal handful onto your plate. Add more like 20-30% to anything where they "measure" rather than count.
