Back Fire Calorie Restricting

For the past 2 years I have been restricting calories. At first it was unhealthy since I didn't understand healthy weight loss but then I understood how to do it gradually and the proper way that isn't extreme. I was 269lbs at 20, female, 5 ft 5. Now I'm 22 and 130lbs. A significant weightloss to me. Because of the calorie restricting...I'm now just in the habit of eating little and have been on a plateau for the past 7 months. I've noticed a worrying problem with bruising very very easily. I assume it's from malnutrition. Even the lightest tap will bruise up on me and I take my health very seriously as we all should I take vitamins (general, vitamin d specific ) but it's not really helping. Any suggestions? I just don't want it to get worse. I'm okay not losing weight, but I'm still not a great weight for long term health though I do work out regularly now. But yeah.....just if anyone has any general tips..I'd appreciate it. I babbled a lot sorry

It's concerning that you think your current weight isn't ideal for health - 130lbs at 5'5 gives you a BMI of 21 which is right in the middle of the healthy range. Are you still restricting your calories? When you say you eat 'very little' what does that mean?
Easy bruising can be sign of very serious medical conditions, in addition to malnutrition, so you need to see a Dr now!0 -

Do you know how many calories you eat daily? 130 pounds is good for your height. But you should be eating the right amount of calories for health. Check your TDEE on a caclulator against what you are eating each day. If its close then you are fine with calories but it still possibly you may be short on nutrients.
It depends what you eat. When yo'uve done all this if you like, message me to remind me to look at your diary. Then i will be able to see if there's anything obvious wrong with your diet. (note i don't usually come back and check on threads after posting).
But also go to the doctor. There seem to be a lot of diseases with symptoms but nothing about malnutrition popped up. However if you have been eating too few calories over a very long period, then you have underlying health issues so still do what i suggested above.0 -

Vitamin C
In people with low vitamin C intake, increasing vitamin C has been found to reduce bruising.5 Taking vitamin C along with bioflavonoids like rutin or hesperidin is recommended, as they may improve vitamin C's effectiveness and absorption.6 As reported by the University of Michigan Health System:7
"Even minor deficiencies of vitamin C and possibly of flavonoids can lead to increased bruising. People who bruise easily may benefit from eating more fruits and vegetables, common sources of vitamin C and flavonoids.

Please don't advise her just to take vitamin C. That's really irresponsible. She needs to see a Dr. Very easy bruising can be a symptom of leukaemia, liver dysfunction and all sorts of serious illnesses that vitamin C won't fix.0 -
What everyone else said. Why would you think 130lbs is not a good weight for long term health? That sounds odd.

How much are you eating per day?
What do you think a good weight you would be?

I mistyped and meant to correct it.....I don't weigh 130lbs I weigh 190. 180 is a fine weight for me as a goal. I already had blood tests done and it just said I had slightly low vitamin d0

If you had a blood test and it didn't show anything other than a mild vitamin D deficiency then you are not suffering from malnutrition. If this bruising thing is new, give your Dr. a call and explain the problem.0 -

OP: you don't say what blood tests were done. First things first, get a CBC -- complete blood count. I tell you this so that if you have Leukemia you do not delay the diagnosis, but please understand that seeking medical advice on an internet forum is a VERY poor idea.0

This is a really inappropriate assumption. You have no idea how this OP views her body and and to imply a disorder is unfair. It is possible to be lacking in nutrition without intending to do so.
OP, I reiterate : go to the doc. The forums can't give appropriate medical advice.0
