Hi everyone!
I'm 21 years old, 5'7'', and right now about 165 pounds ( I would say around 30% bf )
I'm on my second week right now of a new diet plan I decided to undertake; no grains (so no bread, pasta, etc) and no dairy (Except a little cheese once a day max). Almost a little paleo/keto with focus on protein and fats. This is something I personally decided to do as Ive limited carbs before some years back before I was diagnosed with some health issues and it worked, so I thought I would try again. I did cardio 3 times this week (im following C25k) and toning (lunges, squats, some dumbbell workouts) 4 times this week. Im also drinking about 4 cups of green tea a day. I make sure I eat around 1200 calories (net)
I've also been diagnosed with PCOS and taking metformin for it, as well as hypothyroidism and taking euthyrox for that. My metabolism is also pretty shot. The weird part is I carry pretty much 90% of my fat around my love handles and lower belly, otherwise the rest of my body is alright.
I thought having such a strict diet and doing all of the above would make some kind of change, but nothing has been changing in my body what so ever since i started. Actually I think i gained 1/4 inch in my waist. But i've been stuck like this for weeks (i tried some other diets and some other workouts for the past month or so) and I can't understand why or what I'm doing wrong. I really just want some results - I feel like im killing myself and right now i'm weak alot of the time too. So it's very frustrating.
Am i doing something wrong? Should I change something? Or is my body just stubborn and do I have to keep waiting before I see any kind of result?

What is PCOS?0

If your weak i would think that with the exercise your doing as well as the low calorie diet your not getting enough nutrition.0

If your goal is 1,200 net, that means you're eating back some exercise calories. The issue may be that you are over-estimating your calorie burn and eating back too much. How are you determining how many additional calories to eat?0

Can you open your diary? Do you weigh everything you eat? How long have you been stuck for?0

Give it time, you've been at it less than two weeks. Weight loss is not always linear, and if you're doing a lot more exercise than you normally do, you may have some water weight.0

You're 8 inches taller than me, weigh slightly less and you're only eating 1200 calories?
I'm no expert, but I don't think you're eating enough, especially for the exercise you're doing, which would explain why you feel weak.
People carry weight differently, me, I carry weight everywhere, there isn't anything you can do about it, except lose the weight.
A side effect of PCOS is weight gain, and a side effect of the medication is weight gain, so therein lies part of the problem. You need to give it some time, as you said yourself, you're trying different diets and workouts over the last month or so, without actually giving anything a real chance.
Give it time, eat sensibly, exercise sensibly and be good to yourself.

I have a HRM I use while working out, subtract about 110 calories from what I burn (since 110 is what I burn an hour without doing anything) and then eat it back - but i'll be honest, I dont always eat it back and sometimes will have a net of 1000DemoraFairy wrote: »Can you open your diary? I weigh absolutely everything I put in my mouth! I use this really sensitive grams/oz weight scale and I never eat something I dont personally make or check to make sure its as accurate as possible.
I've been stuck at this weight for two months now. It's just not budging. What is PCOS?
Polycystic ovarian syndrome. I basically dont ovulate as a result of insulin resistance.

Have you had your tsh, t4,etc checked recently if you have started exercising it may mean you need a little increase in your thyroid meds to compensate and if your levels aren't right to begin with, you can basically starve yourself and you won't lose any weight.
Reducing carbs is the right thing to do if you have pcos as it comes with insulin resistance but both conditions do make it harder to lose weight.
Its not impossible though I'm hypo myself and have managed to lose 24kg so far with little exercise.0
