Weight loss and menstruation cycle question

Has anyone noticed a trend in weight loss during certain times of your cycle? I've only been on my weight loss journey for a month and A half now. The first month I had a week where I lost nothing despite a significant calorie deficit and 2 hours at the gym a night. The next week the weight was falling off at a rapid rate (at least 1/2 pound a day). The plateau week would have been the week around ovulation time. During my period I did gain about 2lbs but it only lasted for two days and then was gone along with another 2lbs and back to the 1/2lbs a day. I was sick 2 weeks ago and my diet was really messed up. I was losing more like a pound a day (strep throat and could barely eat a thing). Now this past week was ovulation week again and I again plateaued, even gained 1lbs. Once the week ended, I again dropped (3lbs in the past 2 days). Could have possibly been a wonky week just from getting over being sick though. Has anyone else experienced this, and is it something I should expect every month?

It's going to happen every month, so you might as well get use to it. Try not weighing during ovulation and actual menstruation if it's going to bother you. Additionally, a plateau is 8 weeks of no loss. You're talking normal, daily fluctuations here.0

Twice a month, every single month, I gain 1 to 9 pounds for a day or so. Then I start losing weight after a few days again. Its normal, just learn to expect it. Seriously, last month NINE pounds lol0

This week was a lot easier to deal with because I originally attributed it to my body catching up from being sick, then noticed the fact it happened last month. Knowing it's going to happen makes it a heck of a lot easier. Last month I was so confused. I'd read that it was common during your period and even the week before, but this week wasn't one I was reading about. But every body is different, so it may well be my norm.0

I would expect it every month. I gain 2-4# every month during ovulation. It goes away, eventually. Last month's gain took 12 days to gain and 12 days to lose it, so I am technically only losing weight during 7-8 days.
It's stupid and it's reason #3 I pray for early menopause.0 -

Yes, every cycle my weightloss stops, then all of a sudden (after ovulation) it whooshes down. Lucky for me I have a long cycle so it isn't every 28 days like most women :-). I was stuck at 76.6kg(168lbs 14oz) for about 10 days, then went to 74.8kg(164lbs 14oz) in a huge whoooooooosh over a few days.
Still annoys me haha! I always think, why isn't my weight going down? Then check fertility friend on my phone and realise.0 -
I love the week right after my period. I can usually lose about 7lbs in that week alone. It's great for motivation especially when you know it's coming.0

Knowing it's coming will make all of the difference. I am ignorant about all of it and will have a million questions.0
