If Jenner weren’t already a rich celebrity, would she have received the same support?

Sadly, I believe your right that if she wasn't famous, people may not have even cared . I believe all humans, regardless of age, race, sexual preference deserve respect and to be treated kindly . but if she was just some average everyday person who came out as transgender, I doubt people would have been so supportive.
I watched the documentary , and learned a lot. ( I had no idea what the difference was between transgender and transvestite and all the other words . so I do think the documentary helped educate people who didn't know about these things. I thought people who where transgender where also gay, I had no clue. But the show explained why that isn't always true. Nobody ever told me about all that stuff so I was happy to have it explained )

How would other, less famous transgender Americans be treated? . jenner got what she got bc she was bruce jenner and i really really believe he wanted to steal the limelight from the kardishians. Once a star in his own right he became the kardashians towel boy and he craved being the center of attention once again he said so in an interview. He ws driven by ego. IMO. ego is a powerful thing.

Want to add , I dislike the kardashians and do not watch any of that stuff. I only watched the caitlyn documentary because I was curious . ( didn't want anyone to think I like the kardashians at all . )

Of course not, meaning nobody would care - except those close to Jenner. It's like who cares that I'm losing weight? Nobody. But if I was rich celebrity LaSmartChika, you bet the world would care. (And I'd have money for lipos, and home gyms, and for whatever the rich people do to lose weight in like a month. )
