What foods do you reach for when you are HUNGRY and only have a bit of your calorie budget left?

I'll start...

- Refried beans in a whole wheat tortilla sometimes with hot sauce.

- Lowfat cottage cheese sometimes with fruit

Almonds--protein always holds me best! I usually have 4-5 before I fix supper so that I am not tempted to snack while I am in the kitchen.
  • Hard boiled eggs

    Lowfat Cottage cheese

A slice of cheese or string cheese and a dill pickle slice (wrapped around it)

    Peanut butter & apple slices

pretzel twists with a little lite ranch dressing

    A glass of milk

half a chunk of graham crackers in a small glass of milk ( eaten with a spoon - a real treat )

A sliced up cucumber.quite filling and very few cals.
Egg white sandwich - 2 or 3 egg whites fried in a pan, toast a 100 cal thin loaf or a 110 cal bagel thin -yummy, filling and about 150 to 170 cals. eat with water and you're good to go.

Unsalted roasted almonds or a Special K protein bar.
  • Man, all of these replies sound so healthy =)

I will grab a Oroville Redenbacher's 100 calorie bag of popcorn; 5 or 6 Ritz crackers; a handful of goldfish (it's like 100 cal for 24 crackers or something like that); or an apple.

    ...and a Diet Coke!
