People who have lost 20+ pounds or significantly smaller than you started, do you ever still look in the mirror and feel dissatisfied with your body ? Or do you feel scared that you won't be happy even when you get to your goal ? People can comment on how amazing you look but I feel like if you're not happy then it doesn't matter at all...

Dissatisfied? Sometimes. But that does not mean that I don't think I still look better than before. I try not to worry about things that have not happened yet. Just embrace the fitness journey.
I also feel better. I like feeling like I will live a longer healthier life.

What is it about your body that is troubling you?

I think we all have days where we aren't 100% happy with every aspect of our bodies. We are our own worst critics sometimes.
I try to embrace the qualities I do have and try not to focus on the things I'm lacking.
What I have noticed was , I was happier with my appearance after beginning a lifting program. I noticed that I looked tighter , not as much loose skin . I noticed muscle definition and liked it. So maybe consider a lifting program .

My stomach is my trouble area honestly, I just want it to be flat sooo badly. It's shrunk a lot and my shape is defining but I still have a tummy.

Yea that's my trouble area. It is for most women. The good news is that you still aren't done losing so you may be more pleased than you thought. Try to be patient and hang in there! Also, I find my tummy is flattest when I eat low carb and sugar. Maybe try that? Or keep an eye or your sodium. Switch to a Celtic salt instead of regular table salt.

Have you considered a lifting program? I had an awful looking belly after my csection. Now its flat as a pancake. All I did was ,lower my body fat percentage- eat at a deficit -lifted! I ate the foods I love but used portion control and moderation. ( I don't believe in deprivation)
A strength training program would be a good idea for you. Google strong lifts or nrol . I like both. Or you could find a different one , but strength training is the way to go!

I wasn't satisfied with my body before I gained the weight! Silly me . . . But now that I've lost over half the pounds needed for my goal weight, I'm not nearly as hard on myself. I look so much better than I did 32 pounds ago that it's hard to focus on the next 28, but it will happen. The best thing is that I'm now more active than I've ever been in my life!

I am so thrilled to be losing weight and inches and functioning better and stronger than I have in many many years, appearance issues are pretty minor. Yes I would like things to be different in many spots, but I know I can't control most of that. I'm not done yet, so things will continue to improve.

My issue is my fixation on perfection. Ugh

At some point you're going to just have to move on because you'll constantly find a new definition of perfect.

Kettlebell swings have done amazing things for my tummy, and they're actually pretty fun to do. Lots of examples on youtube. :)

Yep. Lost 48 pounds and yet my shape hasn't changed so I'm not even close to being satisfied right now. But I figured it'd be that way, I still have 44 pounds to go. And even once I get there I'm sure it'll take some targeted strength training to get the proportions I want. So yes I'm dissatisfied, but it just keeps me motivated.

I was really scared before hitting the 40 pound mark, but now most of my coworkers have noticed that I've really lost weight and that's helped a lot. I'm not afraid anymore, I know I'll look good soon.

I feel you OP. I have lost weight (~20 lbs), then gained some back, then lost again (not as much of a loss as before, but I gained muscle, so I am almost at my smallest size now). Everyone who knows me says I look amazing and look like I've lost so much weight but when I look in the mirror all I see are trouble areas. And when I look at my friends I feel like all of them look better than I do.

It's definitely a mental thing. I think when you've felt insecure about your body for a long time, it's hard to just get rid of that - even if you really do look great! Give your mind time to catch up to the changes your body has gone through. And what I find helps a lot is to focus on what my body has accomplished rather than how I look. I can run further and lift heavier than I've ever been able to before. And that's awesome, flat tummy or not!

Totally. Weight loss is a mind bender! At my heaviest I had gotten so used to looking in a mirror in a certain way. I would just focus on my face and I never looked at my body. Now that I take it all in it seems that everything looks fat. And I've lost almost 70 pounds and am ~20 from where I want to be.

I know that I look better, and I sure feel one hell of a lot better, but I see my "trouble spots" more clearly now. And the hanging skin is getting very noticeable, particularly at the top of my thighs.

The hanging skin will eventually go away. Or at least that's what I've heard. And definitely what I hope for!

Some days I think I look great and can't believe how small I am; Others, well not so much (usually it's because I'm bloated...oddly enough it makes me look like I'm pregnant...it's really bad after eating pizza).

Overall though, I'm actually pretty happy. I'm trying to cut a bit more fat from (hopefully) my stomach and then I might try bulking to add some muscle or recomp. Maybe. I may just say F* it and maintain for awhile.

The funny thing about bloating now is that it's visible. Before, with so much more weight on my body, I could feel the bloat but not see it. Now I actually know why it's called "being bloated" and my stomach gets humungous!!
