Does MFP consider activity as a 5 work day week?

I always wondered this but never really looked into it. Most people work 5 days a week. I am in construction and i dont always work even 5 days a week due to weather. Because of this, i always do lots of running on weekends and days i dont workand i do not eat back all my exercise calories. Its works for me but i still want to know what MFP counts as daily activity?

One must consider this, prior to choosing an activity level. Exercise is not counted in your activity level, it's logged separately.

Everything but actual workouts is considered. That's why they give job types as examples for each of the activity levels.

If you don't always work 5 days a week, you could always select the activity level under what would be suggested for your profession.

I am not talking about counting exercise as activity level. I amsaying because i do not always work 5 days a week, i exercise those days and do not eat the calories those days.

I didn't make the app, but think it's safe to say that they don't assume everyone is working every day.

Depending on what kind of work you're doing, you'd be considered Lightly Active or Active, I'm sure, even on a 5-day schedule.

It's an interesting question! I've never seen it addressed before.

I do roofing and siding. Some days im constantly swinging hammers and climbing ladders and steep roofs carrying 100lb bundles of shingles, and some days i am walking back and forth all day cutting vinyl siding. And then there is rain and snow days im sitting on my butt all day doing nothing unless i exercise. I set MFP to lightly active to be safe, but on roofing days i am very active. But what i want to know is if MFP is figuring 5 days or 7 days because most people would who put there daily activity to active or very active would only be that active 5 days and probably sedentary the other 2 days. Thats a good 400+ calories that would be overestimating.

I put myself as active as I am a nurse but I generally only work 3 nights a week. It seems to work okay for me. You might need to play around with it for a bit to figure out what works best for you.

Would you consider a heart rate monitor? A lot of monitors can link up with MFP and that is able to determine your burn for the day and adjust your caloric allowance accordingly. I use a Fitbit(not an HRM) but it links with my MFP and adds or deducts calories based on my activity levels that day. I have set myself to Sedentary but that's because I have a desk job and don't generally move around much unless it's deliberately to get steps.

I have two HRM's. One is an ANT+ Suunto t3c and the other is a Bluetooth Polar H7 that i use with a 7th gen ipod nano.

Maybe the Polar H7 can be used with something that can sync with MFP. But i am fine with what i have. I just want to know if MFP calculates 5 or 7 days of activity level.
