Removing calories due to work?

I'm planning on getting a fitbit soon, and I was wondering if there was a way to remove calories from my daily diary as a result of work. For example, if my fitbit said that I burned 300 calories for the day, is there a way to remove (or add in, depending on how you look at it) the 300 calories from my goal by saying "work: 300 calories" or something?

Wouldn't you just not sync up the Fitbit with MFP?

I'm lost, can you possibly explain this differently?

If you sync fitbit to your MFP, it will add or subtract calories based on how much you actually move compared to how much it thinks you should move (based on your activity level). If you sit around at work and don't move, it may subtract calories. If you go for a walk and move more than it expects, it may add calories.

    Does that help at all?

You can but I think you risk adding back calories that are your base metabolic rate. Unless you are doing extreme exercise I would set my base calorie count and stick with it.

For one thing, I didn't know that I could sync fitbit with MFP.

Secondly, the last time I tried syncing an app with MFP, it didn't work. I tried syncing MapMyWalk, but it kept saying incorrect login information.

Perhaps contact customer service directly if you have issues syncing? They should be able to. There's also a fitbit group that I'm sure can give you tons of advice on how to sync and which calories count, etc:

You can absolutely sync fitbit with MFP. If you use MapMyWalk, I'm told it works best to sync that with fitbit instead and then fitbit will bring the calories over to MFP.

Sync the two - then it will only give you extra calories if you move above and beyond what MFP already assumes you would. FitBit usually works very well with MFP in my experiences.
