I set a 10lb goal for this challenge - I know this is a lot of weight to drop in 6 weeks but I am still holding the weekends water weight... so once that works its self out I should be back in the 160's.... I am hoping for a 3-4lb loss next week!
I didn't eat well the last 2 days... make that 3.... plus my water intake was down. Kicking it in gear this week - I don't have any plans for the weekend either so I should be able to stay on track!0 -

This is so fun!
In January, I started eating Paleo and bumped up my exercise (cardio) as I was recovering from shoulder surgery. I lost 18 pounds in 8 weeks and felt GREAT! My sister and her husband started eating Paleo in January and last weekend my sister hit the 30 pounds lost mark! My brother-in-law lost 30 pounds a while ago, but that's a man for you!
Along with eating Paleo (eating the way our Paleolithic ancestors did - hunters and gatherers), I also cut way back on my carbs, dairy, and sugar (I have a terrible sweet tooth and there are evil people at my office that bring cakes and cookies to work every week!). Paleo is heavy up with lean protein, vegetables, and a little fruit.
I bought a couple of books about Paleo and also follow a blog (Everydaypaleo.com) for great tips and podcasts.
Some of my food staples are:
Coconut Oil - I sautee lots of veggies in coconut oil with a dash of sea salt
Quinoa - I cook this in low sodium chicken or beef broth and but in chopped up vegetables - delicious!
Omega 3 Eggs - hard boiled as a snack or scrambled with veggies for breakfast
Whole (skinned) chicken - I season with olive oil, no sodium seasoning, place in ceramic pot with low sodium chicken broth, bake for 1 hour and take out of oven - let chicken cool and then peel from the bone. I will make chicken fajitas, chicken salad, put chicken in my salad, etc...my family will eat off of this all week
Lean ground beef
Ground Turkey
There are lots of options - just takes some planning...I know that if I "fail to plan, I can plan to fail!"
Thanks for letting me into your group - I have a goal of 12 pounds in the next 6 weeks, but know that getting back to eating right and exercise, I can do it!

julie...that sounds interesting. i use to cook with coconut oil, stop when i ran out. it makes food taste different. great for fish.
well, lady said as far as she was concerned i got the job. she still needs to discuss it with husband. he owns the company. he's worried cause i live almost an hours drive. he liked the lady who lived in the same town. but, i got along better with and the dog (boxer) loved me. she was all over me. she will pay under table and every friday and $1 more an hour than i wanted. so talking to DH tonight. she said she would call me on monday and let me know. they are leaving town tomorrow afternoon for her FIL funeral. he passed last week. so for part time, 3 days a week. about 2 hours comute each day. pros/cons. will have to think. it's stepping out of my confort zone, that's why i am stalling. i need to step out of it and move forward.

Hey everyone. I guess I'm not the only one that has been busy. This past weekend we did a whole lot of yard work to put up one of those Intex pools. Got it on clearance at the end of the summer last year. It's 16' by 48". I got it for $99, it originally goes for $380, so I couldn't pass it up. Took us 2 days to fill the thing. I let the girls go play in it today, then I got in. I was able to wear a swimsuit that I haven't been able to wear for like 10 yrs. It is practically brand new. Though I don't look as good in it as I did when I had bought it

Ahhh! so I"m definitely up this week and didn't do very well at all this challenge.
Sorry to have been MIA and not doing well the last week or so. My grandmother passed away last week so i've been preoccupied and here and there. It's been a hard week for sure. And we all know I eat my emotions, so hopefully now i can start to get things back in order and back on track.
Totally ready for the next challenge though!! Let's DO this!!0 -

good morning...
nothing on the calendar for today. going to get my ice cream (my nightly 3/4 cup treat), bread store (hope they have the new stuff shanell) and clean up the house. son is off today. maybe he will go to the trailer. we are hoping he will be moved out by the 1st.

Morning Sixers.
Today it is going to be HOT - 90-ish - which is hot for anytime in the summer here, but particularly for early june! Going to try and get my 2 mile walk in at lunch, and then another walk with the pups later tonight (when it cools down) - Bandit doesn't do well in the heat... poor fella! I set him up in the basement with a fan and his favorite treat - hopefully he will just sleep. We got the pups those mini pools last night at the store - it was only $10 for two... they love them! I will have to take some pictures.
So for the past 4 days now I have not been doing well with my eating after work... tonight I am cleaning out the fridge and cabinets.... the BF will have to try and keep his treats someplace else for awhile, I just don't have the control right now...

Summer is in full swing around here! sorry I haven't been able to check in much, both kids are playing ball so that means late nights and even later workouts
haven't had any energy to get up early and workout, but still have been getting in a run or something!
oh, So, I've been down lately because the scale hasn't said what I've wanted it to, but today I put on my jean capris and of course need a belt...not only did I have to go up one hole but two!! I'll take that NSV!! I WILL NOT LET THE SCALE DEFINE ME!!!

Had a good night last night. Got in a nice long walk with Kadence and my husband. Then did my Ripped week 2. My abs are KILLING me today! Gonna stick with it!

hi all
ive had a horrible day. work is really stressing me out at the moment and I have two cases to present at Committee tomorrow that i'm realyl scared about. Feeling really tired, stressed and on verge of tears! I actually cried at work today and felt like a right prat! once I get tomorrow over I'll be better (a bit!)
Just settling down for a telly series and am fighting the ice cream shouts from the freezer. However MFP did tell me off today for being too far under my calorie goal so I might feed my misery and have a small bowl.
or I might go to bed and weep.

shanell and i did our zumba tonight. i am really enjoying doing zumba. thanks shanell for talking me into going. i want to do it more times a week. i need to put a plan together this weekend. if i get that job i need a plan anyway.
i don't like eating dinner so late. we normally eat at 6, wednesdays it's 7. need to figure something else different on that too.
well, off to shower i think DH is out now.0
