Logging Water Intake?

Do you count all liquids towards your daily water goal, or strictly just water? Or do you just count certain beverages towards your water goal? I aim to drink 64 oz a day, and I do, but I also have 3-4 cups of tea, sometimes some juice or other non-soda beverage and I wonder if I'm drinking too much water as I run to the bathroom to pee every 10 minutes. How does everyone else log their liquids?

I only log my water intake. I may have a cup of coffee every 2 to 3 months...I do not log it.

I only log my plain water. 8 cups of water shouldn't be too much water. If you drink it throughout the day and not all at one time, that should help decrease the urge to go all the time. I've also heard that ice cold water makes the urge to go more frequent.

Still over time, as you get adjusted to drinking a lot of water, you may find y ou do not have the desire to go to the bathroom all the time.

You also get water from the foods you eat and everything you drink counts as water ingested.

I count my cups based on all of my fluids to have a better picture of total intake. Most of my drinks are non or barely-caloric: water, seltzer, tea, or coffee, plus about 1 cup of soy milk per day.

I don't count coffee or almond milk, but I do count herbal tea, along with regular water.

I count any mostly-non-caloric beverage that I don't find to have a diuretic effect *for me*. So, I count water, green tea, and most herb tea. I don't count coffee (find it diuretic), milk, kefir (food-like beverages). Probably 1/3 to 1/2 of my daily 7-9 cup "water" intake comes from the teas & such that I count. I note in my food notes which non-water beverages I counted daily, in case I want to check up on it later.

I count all mostly water beverages (minus alcohol) or at least I would if I tried to log my liquid intake. I count full caffeinated beverages too since the diuretic effect is far less than the hydrating effect.

Example: 8 oz of full strength coffee wit it's diuretic effect will cause 2oz of water loss. You're still ahead by 6 oz.

Also, the 8 8oz recommendation is not based on scientific studies or hypothesis.

"There's nothing wrong with liking water, but there is no scientific proof stating that you need to drink anywhere near eight glasses a day. One doctor who has made this his research focus, Dr. Heinz Valtin, searched through many electronic databases and also consulted with nutritionists and colleagues who specialize in water balance in the body. In all of his research, and in all of the research we conducted to double-check his work, no scientific evidence could be found to suggest that you need to drink eight glasses of water a day. In fact, scientific studies suggest that you already get enough liquid from what you're drinking and eating on a daily basis. We are not all walking around in a state of dehydration.

I don't log water or tea, which is the only thing I drink really. I'm getting back into drinking milk after years of not (plain; I do have it if it's in food items) to mix my protein powder in, which I log.

I aim to drink as much water so that I feel good. I currently don't drink enough (I get dry hands) so I'm going to have more of a specific goal for a few weeks; 4 water bottles spread out over the course of the day. Doing it in blocks of time will hopefully remind me to actually drink it. But I never log it, mainly because there's no way to log water in metric (that I've found). Even my Swedish app does it in cups.

I log anything that's a liquid as part of my water intake for the day. As long as my urine is showing I'm hydrated, everything is fine.

I log everything but mostly have just water and coffee. I drink six 16.9 bottles a day but plan to increase it to 8 bottles.
