Serving size confusion...

Okay so. I've used a food scale for about a year now. It's gotten me through 70 pounds of weight loss, so I kind of trust that it's accurate. I've checked it against other sources a couple times and it does appear to be.

But I've run into an issue recently. I've started eating the Complete Cookies from Lenny & Larry. They say a serving size is 2 oz, and there are 2 per cookie. I weighed one one day out of curiosity, and my scale says a half of a cookie is 1 oz. I've done it a few times since, and every time, it has said it's 1 oz.

So I'm not sure what to go by. Do I go with the packaging or my scale? Is it even possible for the package to be so wrong?

Dang those cookies. They don't fit in my goal and I get mad at them every time I pick them up!

So the package has two cookies, right? But each cookie is two servings, so there are 4 in the package? For some reason I thought that there were two servings total.

Guhhh, I know!! They're such frustrating little (or huge) things.

Do your packages have two cookies in them? Mine have only ever had one. Unless I'm misunderstanding something.

The calories are for half of the cookie then. Your scale measures a cookie at 2 oz. What's confusing? There's two servings in a cookie

It says a serving size is 2 ounces, and that there are 2 servings per package. My packages only have 1 cookie in them, and that 1 cookie is 2 ounces. So it only has one serving in it, not two, if my scale is correct. Im pretty sure its saying 1 cookie is 4 oz, not 2 oz. Does that make sense? Maybe I sound like an idiot lol :s

lol. Crap. I don't know then.

And I actually can't remember if I see packages with two cookies in them or not. I could be making that up. So I am no help.

I just know that I wasn't being careful the other week and started chomping down on one of the brownies thinking the whole thing was "x" amount of calories, even though I have read those packages so many times and have seen they have two servings in them. Screwed my day.

Here some others who complain about the misleading serving sizes

Another good reason to always weigh your food ;)

I'm usually a fatty, & eat the whole cookie.

The best that I've tried so far in order are:

    1. Snickerdoodle
    2. White Chocolate Macadamia
    3. Lemon Poppyseed
    4. Pumpkin

Unless it's the size of a full pancake (not those silver dollar ones, a real pancake) a cookie is not two servings. Manufacturers can get bent.

Never heard of these, but follow the packaging. It says 2 servings per cookie, therefore a half a cookie is 1 serving.

    This.

Many times, I have measured something and the weight is higher for a serving than the package states. Liar manufacturers bs-ing us.

i would go by your scale if everything else is getting weight right on it!
those cookies are suppose to be 4oz each, so one seving, half a cookie, would be 2oz.
did you weight the whole cookie first? hard to believe the other half of your cookie would be 3oz though so it sounds like you may of gotten a batch of mis-made cookies to me. i would contact manufacturer, give them lot number and tell them problem, they may send you some freebies.
