I've heard that good nights sleep, like 8 hrs or so, aids weight loss. However I never get more than six, could that slow down my weight loss? How much sleep do you get every night?

I generally get about 7 hours of sleep a night, sometimes 8, and when I wake up early to run, only about 6.0

I have heard that to but I think it is more about quality of sleep than quantity. I sleep only 6 hours a night (at most) and it hasn't slowed me down.
Great job so far.0 -
I'm struggling with this right now. My mind never wants to shut down before 2-3am I have to get up around 7, so it never works out. I keep telling myself: tonight you go to bed at 10, but it never happens. Exercise doesn't seem to help. Blah.0

On average 7 hours a night but I do feel like I would benefit from more!
I am interested to see what everyone else gets!0 -
I go to bed at 9 PM so I can get to sleep by 9:30 PM. I wake up at 5:30 AM so I can get my day started early. That means I get exactly 8 hrs of sleep each night.0

It makes a huge difference. When I get little sleep the scale does not budge! When I started making myself get 7-9 hrs of sleep the scale moved! Most days I get 5-6 hrs of sleep but I know that henders my weight loss.0

I am lucky if I get six hours..I also heard it has to be at least 6 hours of deep continous sleep. Good luck there I wake up every hour or two!!!I do think its right though...it makes it harder to lose weight.0

Usually I'll sleep anywhere from 9-10-11pm until 7-8-9am on weekdays. And usually weekends I'll wake up at like 10:30am but go to sleep later, like 1am. I worked the night shift from january until may and it did not help with weight loss. I could tell it was slowing me down. Thank god I never have to work the night shift again!0

Probably not enough! Im such a night owl and lately haven't been going to bed until around 1 am. I probably average about 6-7 hrs or so.0

I have insomnia. Last night I got about 2 hours of sleep. I am exhausted!! I've been worrying it is affecting my weight loss, too. I have not figured out how to fix it, though.0

I get 9 - 10 hours a night.0

During the week I usually get about 7 hours of sleep; on the weekend it's more in the 8 to 9 hour range.0

average on 7-8 hours each night, sometimes a little more if i fall asleep earlier0

I try to aim for 8 hours, but for some reason my body likes to wake up after 6-7 hours. Once I'm awake, I'm awake and can't fall back asleep. I definitely need to get a little more shut eye in the future.0

depends on the day, I would say 6-10 hours:)0

Not enough. I have insomnia too. It sucks....0

I get probably on average 5, sometime a little less, sometimes a little more. I have insomnia pretty bad. It had been good for a bit and this week it's acting up again. I get to sleep around 12:30, but wake up at 3 and often cant get back to sleep until 5 or 6 and then I'm back up at 7:30 or 8.
It sucks, but I've always had it pretty bad and I try not to use sleeping aids unless I am getting no sleep at all.0 -
Unfortnately about 5 hours. I have to be up by 5am. I normally doze off downstairs about 10 on whatever tv show I'm watching so I always have to set my DVR. I wake up around midnight...one o'clock. I think go upstairs and jump in the bed until the alarm goes off.0

I sleep as much as I can. I usually go to bed at about 1030 pm and get up at 630 am on workdays. If I am off, I sleep TOO long--get up at 930 or 1000 am. LOVE TO SLEEP! :blushing:0
