Hi, my Polar FT4 keeps saying that I need to check my heart rate transmitter in the middle of workouts. I try making sure the strap is tight enough and readjusting myself so I can get back into my workout, but it still gives me that message and it is very frustrating when I am trying to work out. Does anyone know what the problem could be, or if there are any better heart rate monitors for tracking calories out there? Thanks so much!

Have you had your Polar for a long time? I was having that same problem recently with my FT60. The original strap was 3 or 4 year old and I had been washing it weekly. I think it just wore out. I bought a replacement strap on Amazon for like $15 and it works perfectly again.

I've only had it for a couple months. I believe I bought it in either March or April.

I had the same issue. Contact Polar online and they'll tell you to send it all in and they'll check it all. They sent me a new strap and now it works fine.
    Annoying though isnt it!

Have you changed your battery? my first one lasted about 4 months, I got energizers and duracell, but they don't seem to last that long, I'm going back to Polaroid when the next one fails.
