No Gym Workout Motivation

Does anyone else not have a gym membership and struggle to be motivated to workout at home? What do you do to get yourself to actually workout? I have a treadmill but just have a hard time wanting to exercise at home.
Would love any suggestions! :)

Try different stuff I would say. I sometimes prefer to use videos instead of using equipment. I found insanity to heavy on my joints though but you tube is a great source to find stuff to help you along. I was doing zumba on the wii fit for a while I found that really fun and it tired my out I lost a lot doing it for a few weeks! Just try change stuff around and keep thinking in a week I could loose a pound, in a couple of months inches will have fell off. Just trick your mind. I recently got into pole fitness I didn't loose weight but I gained muscle and it's actually made me look like I've lost weight but it's actually because I'm toning up a lot more than i've ever been able to do alone!

I just walk. I also struggle with exercise. Big time. So, as bad as this is this is what has worked for me; I smoke.. So instead of standing and smoking outside, I take a stroll around the block. What started as a very small change, turned into two miles a day. I find that incorporating very small changes makes it easier for me not to get discouraged or and also motivates me. It's easier to start moving more when you've started.
    Now to just quit smoking!!

Make a schedule and advertise it by posting it on the fridge. If I am planning an early morning workout I sometimes sleep in my workout clothes or at least have them ready next to my bed for a quick change. There are tons of videos and body weight exercises as well as walking, running and jumping rope to keep you from getting bored. You can do it without a gym membership.

I put on a movie I like and I just do situps and pushupss , squats, and triceps dips. Add some weight training and you have a whole light session for an hour and a half if you do all of these while watching movie. :D

I love running, yet my head often tells me that I hate it, that I don't want to put my trainers on and go out. I just make myself do it. I find the mornings easiest so i don't have enough time to back out of it (although getting up early can be a struggle) - by afternoon/evening my resolve has gone.

It takes a while to figure out what you really like. I don't like exercise for it's own sake. I have to have an external motivator, like "fun", or "a race to prepare for". I much prefer running a circuit in my neighbourhood for instance, than a treadmill. It's more stimulating, and I can fool myself in to thinking I'm going somewhere. I'm going to be signing up to a dragon boat team soon. Same idea. Going somewhere.

My daughter ran with me for a couple weeks when I suggested an app, C25K. She liked the gentle reminders and a schedule (every other day) that leads to progress.

My local Running Room has a running group with a couple running events scheduled every week. Having a group to join can be an external motivator.

Oh! Zombie run! I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

Another activity I'm scouting out is Geocaching.

I have a treadmill and I like jogging but recently discovered workout DVDs. I've been doing the T25 series for 3 months. It was really hard at first but is hard but easier for me now. The gamma section has weights which I'm growing to love. It's something different. I've bought cheaper workout DVDs to do as well.

When I got halfway to where I aim for I celebrated it by giving myself a Garmin Fenix 3 pulse watch. Yeah I am a sucker for tech. But that watch has really upped my motivation to another level.
I love to compare my walks, bike runs and swims. It also buzzes and tells me to move my *kitten* if I sit down for an hour infront of the TV.
So these days when I go for a walk or mountain bike I tend to look for steep hills or long flights of stairs so I can see how high I can get the pulse going

never ever had a gym membership, I do it all at home 7 days a week, tho mainly outside. I aim for 1000 calories burned a day. I like to try new things each and every day as well.

I have a gym membership for the purpose of lifting weights only...everything else I do is outside of the gym. my primary form of exercise is cycling...but I also do some hiking, swimming, a little jogging once per week, walk my dog, golf, etc.

you just have to find things you enjoy...if you like DVDs and whatnot, great...but you don't have to do that kind of stuff to have a great workout.

one of the reasons I belong to a gym. Feel the need to get my money's worth. Plus I work out during my lunch hour, so any excuse to get out of work.
