Go to foods?

Pretty new at this macro counting thing. My trainer wants me to have 10-20 grams of protein / 10g of fat immediately following a 60 minute cardio session in the morning.

Does anyone have recommendations that might fill these macros?

Egg, egg whites, cheese, spinach, broccoli, ham, bacon. Protein shake with oatmeal and PB. Whatever is easier for you.

Are protein shakes and/or bars out of the Q? Simple and effective.

I find that a good balanced protein bar is sometimes the best option. You can find ones that are "whole nutrition" that hits all the macros and goals you listed above. They are easily portable and can be eaten on the go with no problem.

I like Pure Protein bars, I hear a lot of people give high praise to Quest bars but I have not tried those. As for shakes I like EAS and Muscle Milk. I would recommend trying sample sizes until you find what you like. You can try writing to the various companies to get samples. Many of them will send you a decent sampling.

Good luck, let me know if you find something else worth trying.

This. S'mores is good too. 21g protein, 7g fat for the one in front of me.

Hard boiled eggs, yogurt or kefir, homemade chicken breast snack sticks (thin slices of chicken breast baked with a spicy curry or chili coating), low fat cheese, turkey deli meat, edamame, almonds or walnuts

I have plenty of ideas for some carbs ☺️

In that case, the possibilities are endless. Protein waffles or pancakes, eggs, Greek yogurt, oatmeal mixed with protein powder and/or pb (or protein shake w/ oats and/or pb--whatever your preference for texture and consistency is), protein shake or bar. Really I could go on and on. Eggs with salsa are my go to if I'm watching carbs.
