Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated

In my diet plan it says I am to consume 0g of these fats. I did a lot of research on it and these are the two types of healthiest fats, that can be found in avocados, nuts, fish, etc. Am I to cut these foods completely from my diet?

    MFP has a known bug that changed the poly- and monounsaturated goals from N/A to zero (0).

    Please see this post for additional information on the reporting of the issue with MFP incorrectly changing the goals of Poly Fat and Mono Fat from N/A to zero (0). This issue seems to be fixed on the iOS app, but it still is an issue on the Web version and the Android app.

    You can determine your poly- and monounsaturated fat goals yourself using these equations.

    Although the individual goals of Poly Fat and Mono Fat are undefined and should be labeled as not applicable (N/A), the sum of the goals of Poly Fat and Mono Fat is defined and equals the goal of Total Fat minus the goal of Saturated Fat, given the goal of Trans Fat is zero.
    Goal (Poly + Mono + Trans + Saturated) = Goal (Total Fat)
    ...rearranging...
    Goal (Poly + Mono) = Goal (Total Fat - Saturated - Trans)
    ...since Goal (Trans) = 0
    Goal (Poly + Mono) = Goal (Total Fat - Saturated)

    Why should they show up as N/A? Is it a premium service type thing? But thanks for the help! That's very useful :)

    It is not a premium thing. The problem is that the individual goals of poly and mono are a moving target throughout the day, depending on how much saturated and trans fat you add to your Diary for each individual food item. That is tough to code for in software, especially since a user can set custom goals for each one, which further complicates coding the software for a moving target.

    It's not really a diet plan, you know. MFP sets calories based on information about you, but everything else is standardized and can be changed without it affecting weight loss. Macros are 50% carbs, 25% protein and fat (or else 20 one and 30 the other -- I forget), but there's a huge range of healthy macros, so lots of people set our own. Sugar is 15%, various other things are based on the RDA or other sources of advice, but there may be reason to change them -- some might want lower sugar or to watch only added sugar (which you have to do by looking it over yourself) or higher fiber or a different sat fat number, etc.

    There's no high limit for the unsat fats, so it's N/A unless you want to set your own. (In theory total fats minus sat fat would be the high, but there's no reason to hit the max sat fat, and no real need to keep total fats below a particular level, so I wouldn't worry about it unless you have specific advice from a doctor and are setting your own numbers.)

    No, do not cut. Just be careful with omega 6's as many are bad.

    Ahhh, ok, I thought it was telling me to avoid those types of fat. Thank you for the clarification my friends! :)
