Confidence in Cosplay at NYCC! (Photo heavy)

Hello all! So I wanted to make a blog post because some of my MFP friends had asked for photos of my Comic Con cosplays this year. However, I have a ton of photos and getting them all to work in the blog is just not happening (I've tried on three different browsers and they all keep glitching. Please update your blog options, MFP), so I'm posting it here on the general forums!
I had three different cosplays this year, the reason this is a big deal is because I'm still learning to be confident and love my body, so putting myself on display in different costumes is definitely a success! I would have had a much harder time doing this before I lost weight using MFP, especially since my costume on the last day showed my stomach!! I did one cosplay last year and posted about it, so I thought I should share this year as well. So here we go, photos and recap... (warning, post will be LONG and photo heavy)
I had to resize the photos to post them here which reduced the quality quite a bit, but you get the idea!
Friday, October 9
On Friday my boyfriend and I cosplayed as Hermione (Yule Ball version) and Ron. I actually got my Yule Ball dress last year at Wizarding World, and it cost a pretty penny, so I wear it as often as possible! I made him a Ron sweater, very simple, and lent him a wand and we were good to go!
I wish we had gotten better photos of this Cosplay because I worked really hard on my hair and makeup and both were more complex up close. But here are the photos I have!
I remembered to put on my time turner halfway through the day...
This photo is my favorite from the day even though it is grainy. You can see how excited we were from the day's events!
I was really happy with this Cosplay because people kept coming up to us and telling us how cute we were and asking to take pictures. I also actually had to have this dress altered before wearing it because it was too big on me! So that was a confidence booster as well.
Friday overall was really great. We had a couple of random celebrity sightings (Josh Holloway from Lost and Whoopi Goldberg!) and we went to a Marvel panel where a surprise guest, the actor who plays Agent Coulson, showed up. We got to watch an episode of Agents of Shield before it will air next week, and we had tons of fun walking around the show floor looking at all the exhibitors!
Saturday, October 10
On Saturday I cosplayed with my roommate and his girlfriend as characters from Legend of Zelda. I went as Link with him going as Dark Link and his girlfriend as Sheik. I LOVED the way our costumes, and the photos we took, turned out. Bonus: I got to show of my legs, recently toned up from marathon training, in some tights.
And finally my favorite photo... "I found a rupee in the grass!" (Fans of the game will appreciate this.)
Saturday was definitely the most fun day. We saw and did so much! We went to a panel for the upcoming movie "The Last Witch Hunter" with Vin Diesel, Rose Leslie (from Game of Thrones), and Elijah Wood. They showed us clips from it and even gave us all a free movie ticket to go see it when it comes out! My boyfriend and are I Doctor Who fans so we went to another panel that night where they screened a new episode and the episode writer, Toby Whithouse, was there to answer questions. We walked around the show floor and saw a couple more actors (Samuel Anderson - Danny Pink from Doctor Who, and Amandla Stenberg - Rue from Hunger Games)!
Also, I met Finn Jones, Ser Loras from Game of Thrones. He was SO nice and was really excited about my cosplay. It was awesome!
Sunday, October 11
The last day! I was really excited about my costume for this day, but nervous since it showed my stomach. Two friends and I went as Jedi Disney Princess, which was inspired by some fanart we had seen online. I went as Jasmine and they were Rapunzel and Aurora! We all worked really hard on these costumes and I think they came out quite lovely. I felt confident and got a lot of compliments!
The best thing about Sunday was it's Kid's Day at NYCC, so there were a lot of little children walking around who got really excited about seeing us princesses. A lot of their parents took photos of them with us. It was adorable and I felt like a real princess at Disney World!
Other than that not much went on Sunday. They didn't have many great panels, so we pretty much walked around the con all day. My boyfriend and I did go to one panel about Classic Doctor Who that was interesting. And there was a Disney character meetup, so we got to take more photos there!
And that's about all, folks! To anyone who read this, props to you - I know it was long! I just wanted somewhere to share how proud I was to wear these things this weekend! It was a great time and I'm already thinking about cosplays for next year
