Personally, I'd fire that trainer just for having bad grammar, because to me, that speaks loads about whether I could trust them to know what they were talking about. Having worked with several trainers and known plenty while studying to become one myself, I learned one thing in particular... some trainers are really good at giving horrible advice. This one sounds like they might fit that mold.
Triggers for me in your statement are the bad grammar and the blatant statement that something will "attack" unwanted body fat. Since nothing really attacks fat other than caloric deficit and increased activity, this statement is alarming to me when it comes from a professional.0 -
Seriously OP how tall are you

So we find out you're only 116lbs and you don't come back with your height
something is amiss here0 -

I had a look at your diary, and you are confusing grams and percent. The fat % you have set is really low, though, I'd recommend you rise it, and lower your carbs a bit. 20% protein, 30% fat and 50% carbohydrate is a good start. Don't worry if you go over or under, but these are good guidelines to ensure your diet is balanced.
1,665 calories should give you room for some tasty food. It looks like you already know what those are. What is not tasty in your diet? Talk to your doctor if you have lost sense of taste/smell.
Hi love, thankyou it's appreciated... It was my personal trainer who set them targets to reach I don't know why but he did so I've just Been following them xkaitlinblair_x wrote: »kaitlinblair_x wrote: »
hopefully you misunderstood
Plug into MFP
Take standard percentage breakdown and start from there
I think your macro breakdown was set by an idiot
This is what my personal trainer has wrote exactly in my fitness plan
"If you want too use www.myfitnesspal.com then use there figures I have provided for you as they will attack the unwanted body fat.
Protein : 85g= 20%
Fat :30g=16%
Carbs:265=64%"
I have been sticking to this for a while now.... Is this wrong?
You haven't been sticking to this. If you have recorded everything you eat, you are undereating. If you just didn't mistype in your original post, you don't know the difference between percent and grams. You don't know why your goals are set the way they are. Your trainer doesn't know what he is doing. But if you trust him, why don't you ask him what you should eat to hit your targets? What exactly are you asking the forum for help with?0 -

@BecomingBane I read that on page 1 and was about to post about it when I clicked to read page 2 and saw that you already covered it.
I don't care if I sound mean or insensitive, but I agree wholeheartedly. It doesn't matter if you're a CEO or a personal trainer; you want to represent your best self when you do business. An e-mail from a personal trainer where that PT can't even choose the proper spelling of to or their speaks volumes about how they conduct business. If this advice came from an actual PT and not just some person you know/met over the internet, I'd be taking my business elsewhere.
OP, I'm not sure of your height, but I'm 5'3.5" and I weigh 118 pounds as of last Sunday. My macros are 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein. I find that ratio works best for me and helps me feel full. When eating at a deficit, it's important to eat adequate protein as to retain as much muscle mass as possible as you lose weight. Everyone varies, though.0 -

I'm not surprised to see "attack the unwanted body fat" but I am surprised to see it followed with low protein and high carbs.
@kaitlinblair_x ask your doctor for a referral to a dietician.0 -

A standard macro breakdown would be .6 to .85 grams of protein per pound of body weight; .45 grams of fat per pound of body weight, and fill in the rest with carbs.
