I just calculated mine and it was 0.80, which puts me at a reduced risk of coronary heart disease, diabetes and stroke. What's your ratio? https://healthstatus.com/calculate/waist-to-hip-ratio
I need to lose around 60 more lbs. but at least my ratio is remaining constant.

0.67 is my ratio.
I'm a pear shape, and it took the time to point it out.
wasit: 24 inches
hip?: 36 inches0 -
After my 6th attempt to change it to male I give up.
I think my ratio is .9, what's that mean for me?0 -

Yep, it felt the need to tell me I am a pear as well.0 -
Mine is .78 but I already knew I was nearly a pear. I have really wide shoulders though, so not a classic pear.0

Me TOO!
It said I'm a pear but that's not right. I'm an apple, it's just my midsection weight hangs low. I. Hate. It.
However, not focusing on numbers, I'm living my life, one healthy choice at a time.

0.74-0.76 (my waist fluctuates a whole inch). It says I'm a pear, but I'm not. It didn't ask about the boobs, lol. Or shoulders.
I keep a bunch of weight on my whole midsection when at a higher weight, though, and my ratio changes a lot. I'm at maintenance now. Some sites say you keep your shape at different sizes, but I really don't. So that midsection weight may come off well, y'all! It was the last to go for me, but I'm not very thin or anything.0 -
0.73
It says I'm a pear, but I'm not sure how it can determine body shape without a bust measurement. I'm 36-27-37. Calculators that take into account bust measurement say I'm hourglass.0 -

Women = 0.8 or less
Men = 0.9 or less
Then there is the waist to height ratio as well (I think it's considered better for determining if your at a healthy weight than the BMI charts).
Waist to Height Ratio for Women
(In percentage; therefore, .45 equals 45 percent.)
Ratio less than 35: abnormally slim to underweight
Ratio 35 to 41.9: Extremely slim
Ratio 42 to 48.9: Healthy
Ratio 49 to 53.9: Overweight
Ratio 54 to 57.9: Seriously overweight
Ratio over 58: Highly obese
Waist to Height Ratio for Men
Ratio less than 35: abnormally slim to underweight
Ratio 35 to 42.9: Extremely slim
Ratio 43 to 52.9: Healthy
Ratio 53 to 57.9: Overweight
Ratio 58 to 62.9: Seriously overweight
Ratio over 63: Highly obese

So......this is more an 'aesthetics' measure of some nebulous notion of perfection of the Human form....I see.0 -
