weird question but i hope i can get some honest answers:
i ate a lot of protein today because i didnt realize just how much protein in packed into Quest products. i had a crazy day at work and kept reaching for the bars (i know, i wont do it again, so i would appreciate no lecturing!)
bottom line, my protein intake was 220 g today and most of it was just from protein bars and shakes. i dont feel so good, so please don't add insult to injury. i dont wanna die or something. my head hurts.
edit: i know im not like, dying right now and i was being "funny" back there. but i really do not wanna get long term damage and the headache is genuine.

Unless you have existing kidney problems, you should be fine.0

I guess I don't really understand what the problem is? As far as I know, for nutrition, what MFP sets is the minimum for what they think you should get. Protein is healthy, and though you probably ate more than you needed, it won't do any permanent damage. If that makes you feel yucky, then cut back.0

oh ok thank you! i do have mild kidney stones from time to time, but nothing terrible.
I was thinking more along the lines of impaired renal function. If you are feeling gross, perhaps try having something else to reach for next time.0 -

Believe me, the human body is not so fragile that one day of doing anything short of actually toxic will do anything. we're pretty hardy.0

Even though you are not logging, I suggest you set up your space with a variety of appropriate snacks. Get some fruit and veggies in there. And a large bottle of water. The next time you are distracted and automatically reaching, at least you will have a variety.
The only problem I've had with too much protein is backed up plumbing if you get my drift. But Quest bars I understand also have a decent amount of fiber.0 -
I would guess you don't feel well from all the extra junk they put in those bars and shakes. While probably not harmful if you eat them occasionally, they may do a number on your digestive track if you eat many of them in a short amount of time.
There are few that I avoid completely due to the way it makes me feel (a couple MetRX bars/brownies are the worst for me)...0 -
You'll be fine, but if I were you, I'd drink a lot of extra water, or maybe proactively go for a stool softener at a drug store. All that protein and fiber makes some people very constipated...0

Prolonged overconsumption is the issue--particularly with animal protein.
One day is just a waste of money.0 -
It's unlikely that you've done organ damage by eating a couple protein bars, but if you have a history of kidney problems and are concerned, call the doctor.
You might want to call, anyway, to get a referral to a dietitian. A dietitian could get what you need from the doc and set you up on a good plan for you. That way, no more worry in the future about whether this or that is okay to eat!0 -

ah actually i did have a uh...decent amount of fiber from them. lol. and cool i will buy some grapes or something. baby carrots are good but hurt my stomach.
Watch out for the protein farts. You might want to carry some disinfectant spray with you.0 -

In that case you could eat 200 grams of protein every day and be fine. I aim for 150 grams per day.0
