Hello my name is Naiomi and I am fat...LOL. Seriously though I am. Im going to be 28 years old this month. I have always had issues with my weight but recently I have realized I need to do something before its too late. I currently have high blood pressure and on borderline of being diabetic. I know I know its tragic. Also just for me only being 28. Well I am determined to shed pounds. I understand it wont happen over night. I want to start 30yrs old as a healthy new Naiomi. This is about making a lifestyle change. If u wanna motivate eachother then add me as a friend! God Bless!!! =)

Welcome to the club. I know where your comming from but unfortunately you have to start somewhere. I was pushing 350lbs & now have lost over half of that - going on almost 1yr now. It is a total committment, but you can do it. I am scheduled to complete my first triathon in Sept. & I am excited. With dedication, hard work & a lot of great friends here at MFP you should definately succeed in your quest to lose the pounds.
Add me as a friend if you like. Good luck.

What a great goal you have. Good luck on your weight loss and getting healthy. I will be 20 in a few months and I want to be healthy in my 30's as well.

Naiomi-welcome and good luck. You can do this-I won't lie, it's hard but if you truly want to change and you want to be healthier, it can be done! Being healthy by 30 is totally doable. Take it one step at a time and one day at a time and before you know it, you'll be where you want to be.

i'm loving your sense of humor towards it all! you made me smile with your post. also glad you recognize you are way too young to be worrying about diabetes and high blood pressure! you should be worrying about what bikini you'll shimmy into this summer :)

stick with this program, it works! it teaches you to hold yourself accountable for every health decision you make in a day.

Naiomi, you've picked a great time to start. Like you, I was just diagnosed hypertensive and early diabetic, and like you, that's not the road I want to be on. I'm almost 46, and I am all done being this way. It's taken over my life and affects every single thing I do. So off comes the weight, off go the habits that brought me to this size, and here come the new ways of eating and moving that will keep me around to meet my grandkids someday!

You can do it. You came to the right place!
