Activity Level

Hi All,
I have been using MFP for 6 months now. Using it in conjunction with HIIT, running, cycling and swimming(the last two for only the first 2 months), I have lost nearly 13 kilos till now.
My question is:
I am a Business Analyst meaning most of my work surrounds a computer system. So ideally it should be a sedentary activity level for me.
But using a pedometer(including the HIIT and running), I found out that I average nearly 12,000 steps a day for the weekdays, and nearly 7,500 steps in the weekends.
So, what kind of activity level should I keep in the app?

Exclude your exercise as that isn't part of your activity setting.
You log that separately.
Don't over think it, pick one that you feel describes both your job and day to day activity outside of work (not exercise) - it's just a start point, review your weight loss results after a month and adjust if required.0 -
"Sedentary" can be misleading.
I also work in a desk job so am sitting on my but in front of a computer screen for 40 hours per week. I have 2 school aged children to run around after, a house to keep in some sort of order, committee meetings to attend adn places to taxi children to on weekends. My planned exercise in the week is 1 x karate class, 2 x 30 minute swims or jogs, 2 x 20 minute kettlebell workouts.
You have to include your actual planned "formal" exercise, as well as general life. Sedentary often means if you lie in bed all day and do nothing else - your body still needs calories to keep your heart beating etc.
I use scoobys workshop calculator and set my activity level to moderate. Works so far.

You are following a different method to MyFitnessPal.
TDEE calculators like Scoobys includes exercise in activity settings - this site does not.0
