What brand of Olive Oil do you use?

I use California Olive Ranch brand. I think it was on one of those lists of reputable olive oils, though I couldn't point you to that list at this point. Also, I like the bottle.0

For a fuller flavor, you want to buy Olive Oul that is FIRST, COLD pressed. This is the first pressing before the olives are heated. It is the purest and most flavorful.0

Yeah I just don't want to use waste or whatever is in bad olive oils. Its like there's no good brands, they say to use "good olive oil". What's good? It's very complicated and no one has a single answer.

brand:
Apollo's mistral organic,
why:
originally because it was one of the 2014 best olive oil in the world winners made in US and after trying it, because i really like the sweet undertone it has, its not bitter tasting to me like others i had tried in past..
i don't use it with everything though because i only found it online and their shipping is a bit much for one bottle of it! comes out to $30 all together for a bottle of it, $20 if first time buyer.. worth it for special occasion meals i think though.0 -
Try looking for a review like from America's Test Kitchen. They usually review several, then rank them and give the reason for their recommendations.0

Usually that will mean a first press. I really think this is only necessary when using it as a dip for bread. If it's in a recipe it's not very noticeable.0 -

I have the America's Test Kitchen magazine at home and California Olive Ranch was voted best olive oil you can buy in a grocery store. Also, it was proven legit good quality olive oil. Apparently, there's a huge olive oil scam.
I use California Olive Ranch at home when I don't want to splurge on Olio Santo. Olio Santo is delicious and it's actually pretty affordable $29 for a 25.4oz bottle (I always buy when they are 20% off at Williams Sonoma like now!). For a really good affordable aged balsamic vinegar I highly recommend which is also 20% off right now at WS.

Canola oil forever! (I prefer the taste, it has less of the bad fats and it's waaaay cheaper.)0

I just visited a olive oil and vinegar store. If you have access to one go for a visit. They have so much to choose from. I learned there is much to try and learn. The one that impressed me the most is that they sell one they call butter olive oil. There is no butter involved it is made from olives that taste buttery. The owner suggested pouring some in a container and storing in the frig. It firms up and turns cloudy and you can spread it like butter. Who knew? I can't wait to go back to try more.0

All evoo will firm up and become spreadable in the fridge. I keep some mixed with herbs and garlic in the fridge for making garlic bread.0 -

What makes it healthier than oils? Fat is a necessary nutrient. Vinegar is not.0 -

Kind of hard to saute something in balsamic vinegar, or make spaghetti aglio e olio with balsamic vinegar...

OP I use Bertolli for my every day olive oil but go to specialty olive oil stores for flavored oils that I use to make salad dressings, when I make paninis, or to enhance flavors. I have a jalapeno cilantro one right now that I am loving!

My favorite is Spitiko, which I can only find locally at a specialty store called Phoenicia in Houston. Amazon has it, though. Really good for dressings and dipping.
My daily use, because I use a ton, is Aldi's Carlini. I did get a huge bottle of Colavita for less than $5 on clearance recently. I'm not as picky about cooking oil.
I like canola for popcorn and mayo. Very neutral flavor.0 -

We like Colavita because it has a nice peppery taste. We like it as much as butter on popped corn.0
