Eat enough calories without going over on carb/fat/sugar/sodium? I find most days I have a huge calorie deficit, but seem to be over on everything else!

do you cheat over the weekends? that was getting me for quite a while. I was working out 5 days a week eating healthy mon thru fri then...would eat whatever I wanted on the weekends. I was at the same weight for 1 month and just broke my plateau by eating less carbs.

I struggle with the same thing when I burn over 1000 calories in a day. I try to eat all of my calories back, but find it impossible to eat an extra 1000 calories without going over on fat etc....

Everyone says my calories are too low, but I don't like going over on sugar and sodium.

Looking at your food diary for the past week you are usually over your protein and under on carbs and fat. You can always rearrange your macro percentages as MFP usually has the carbs default setting quite high. Go to goals, custom setting, and see what the percentages are. Some people will recommend a 40/40/20 (carb/protein/fat) split. This is what I have used with good success. This allows you to spread around your calories a little bit. Ultimately though, the sugar and sodium are about making good clean food choices.

From a quick glance at your diary, I see you go over on protein, sodium and sugar. But it's not a significant increase from what is recommended. Going over on protein is not really an issue, I constantly go over my protein but it has not really affected my weight loss. What you want to keep in check is sugar and sodium levels. That's my take on it anyways. Hope that helps!

I'm the same way on my calories. Sugar seems to be what I always go over on lately, mostly because there is so much fresh fruit available right now and I love fruit. I have tried to eat high protein main courses like greek yogurt, cottage cheese, grilled chicken breast and fish. I'm still tweaking my diet, hopefully I will figure it out soon.
