Rediscovered my love of Tae Bo- and I am around 300 lbs

Hi, I have been working at losing weight a few months. I have found that I struggle with major anxiety, maybe even anxiety attacks, when I am dieting but have been reading that exercise is one of the techniques to combat anxiety, so I have been looking to make it more a part of my life.

Well, I was looking on You Tube to try to find some sort of exercise I would like to do and able to do at my size ( 150 lbs overweight) and I found they had a lot of walking type workouts by Leslie Sansone and Denise Austin and those are okay, but I find them boring, not very motivational, and they don't really help my anxiety because my mind can wander during the workout. Then I remembered Tae Bo and how much I used to love working out to those videos when I was younger. I found Tae Bo gold and Tae Bo basic on You Tube and surprisingly I was able to do them. I can't kick as high or do knee lifts as high as the people in the video or as I used to, but I sweat and feel great afterwards! It helps with my anxiety too and keeps my mind focused and occupied.

I just thought this might help people who are looking for something like this to workout to and larger like I am ( or even smaller) or who need an exercise program like this. It is such a fun workout, burns a lot of calories, and leaves you feeling good!

You Tube is a great resource for free workouts!

Way to go - that's awesome that you persevered to find something that worked for you. Lots of people would have given into the anxiety. Keep it up!!!

:) I also rediscovered Tae Bo today on YouTube. Had been thinking of adding some cardio to my routine and remembered that I had enjoyed Tae Bo in the '90. Best of luck with your routine.

Yes, my dad bought the entire original series when I was a teenager. He never really used it but my mom and I did. My mom used to get really good results using it and I enjoyed it too. I had never really worked out before except running around a track or on bleachers. A lot of the modern instructors of kickboxing either keep it high impact or add dance and I cannot dance for the life of me or they don't add it enough to the workout or the instructor stinks ( like Turbojam, P90 or the Biggest loser workouts). Billy Blanks is such a great instructor-- nice and motivating , fit without being arrogant or forgetting the beginners/ obese people out there.

Thanks for the reminder!! I also used to love Taebo!
I've also recently taken to YouTube for a new challenge (exercise routines at home), and really been enjoying trying different YouTube channel & routines. I'm a fan of Fitness Blender, though it's definitely has "quieter" routines that may bore or not be exciting for some; to each their own!
I'll need to look up some Taebo to help switch up my routine, thanks again!! And keep up the awesome work!!

I still love Taebo. There are some YouTube videos - I lost a lot of weight doing it daily.
