And, I had a child who wore the same pair of shorts from age 2 to 4 (or longer). Obviously her body changed a ton (and she lost a diaper) but they still fit. Maybe it was the elastic or the stretch fabric, too. It really didn't mean anything. Anyway, congratulations on 20 pounds gone gone gone. Sounds like you are doing super!0

It took me 50 lbs to drop a size and even then it is not consistent. I have to wear very specific brands to fit in a smaller size.0

I've lost 59lbs & I've only gone down one size in jeans. But I can fit into 2 sizes smaller in trackies & some tops, depending on their style. I thought it would be more, but it must depend on how people carry their weight. the biggest difference I see is in my face/neck & my waist, but I still have a bit of lower belly & large thighs (even if not as much as before)0

That happened to me once too. I lost 20 pounds but same size clothing. I think part of it was loss of water weight and part of it was that I often lose in my face first.0

I've lost a bit over 20 pounds and have yet to drop an official size (but, like another poster mentioned, there was some stretch involved so that's not too surprising).
The simple fact is that we're all built different. I have hips, thighs and a big butt--always have--which means I'll probably never wiggle into a size 2. BUT, I (and we all) can look amazing in whatever size we end up in. It's just a number, don't stress; rock the size you're wearing and step over the haters. You got this!
I agree with what you stated. I've always had a big booty and only got down to a size 4 at my lowest weight 115, I'm 5'4. I've now lost 17 lbs. At my highest weight, 164 I was wearing a tight size 14 jeans, now I'm in a size 12 but I can't fit in all size 12's, Express brand is too small for me. I've always carried a high body fat % which effects the size I can wear.0 -
It's interesting how we are all built so differently and the same weight wears different sizes. I'm 5'7 I weigh 192# and my size 12s are getting loose. I always thought I had a big butt but I'm coming to realize that I carry weight fairly proportionate.0

I second that bigger sizes require more loss to go down. I intend to work my way down the sizes I have in my closet. I've lost 30lbs and I can still wear my 18s. They don't fit well, definitely looser and require a belt, but I can still wear them. I have a few pair of 16s that I can currently wear, but the rest are a 5-10lbs away from comfortably wearing them in public. I don't have any 14s, so I imagine if I skipped them on my way up, I'll skip them on my way down. I'm only 30lbs from the weight I was the last time I was able to fit into my 6s and 8s, so it looks like the next 30 will have smaller size NSVs more frequently than the first 30. I also second the poster who suggested trying on some smaller sizes to see if they fit. I've been wearing the same pair of jeans the last two months because I thought they were the only ones I had that fit, tried on some skinnys I couldn't even pull over my butt a month ago and last week I got them all the way up, buttoned, zipped and they're not very flattering because they're a little too big. I missed the opportunity to wear them because I assumed since I was still "fitting" into my current clothes, that meant I wouldn't fit into the smaller clothes. I now plan to try things on every 2 weeks to see where I really am versus where I think I am.0

I'm 5'10". I started 1 year ago at 270 lbs, and a size 20/22. I'm currently 211 and a size 16/18. Technically I've dropped a whopping 2 sizes in 60 lbs. *blows a kazoo*.0

Maybe you lost weight elsewhere?
I do measurements arms, thighs, hips and waist. I lost most of my inches off my waist and hips and dropped from 38s to 34s (26lbs lost total) - I only lost 1 inch off my thighs, none off my arms.0 -
Another variation of this is that I've lost about 16 pounds and just waking around you can't really see it. No one has noticed that I'm losing weight. It can be really frustrating to be honest. I can see it when I'm naked because it all seems to be in my tummy which definitely is shrinking. But that's a part of my body I just shoved over the tops of my jeans before and so its not very noticeable and hadn't resulted in fitting into a smaller size-butt and thighs are still huge. Paradoxically, as I start to lose weight but a still so large Im really coming to terms with exactly how much weight I had gained. I think I was in denial. It's also just a reality that I didn't see this huge difference going from 200 to 225 so it makes sense I wouldn't see a huge difference going the other way. So I try to remind myself that I was this big, and gaining, for the last year and a bit and I can manage being this big a little longer. My life didn't fall apart going up, the world didn't come to an end because I gained weight gradually and I was perfectly happy with my life even if I had a growing dissatisfaction with my body that finally reached a tipping point. I'm losing slower than I thought (closer to 1-1.5/week than the 2/week I initiallu aimed for). I'm not thrilled with that but it also allows weight loss not to take over my life, which means the frustration is much less than if I felt like I was working SO HARD and no one noticed. I imagine I'll hit a tipping point where it becomes more dramatically noticeable - probably another 20 pounds (3 months) away. for now, I just plug away and try not to worry about my outside appearance any more than I did on the way up. Fitness goals help in this process.0

Just remember the weight didnt all drop from your waist/legs! Your arms, chest, insides, face, etc all lost some too.0

Same here, I just lost 25 lbs and I am still wearing the same size 12 clothes I wore in the beginning of summer. However I had to send a couple of dresses to the tailor because they were looser. I am sure it is normal.
I know I will have to lose another 25 pounds before I am size 10.0 -
t25 is still cardio....start lifting weights, you will see the difference asap....0

I am really surprised, given your stats, that your size didn't change a couple of times. I'm a couple pounds heavier and an inch taller...back when I was in the 200s it took a LOT (30 lb or so) to go down even one size, but right now the difference is really major when I lose even 5 lb (looser size 10s) or go up by 8-10 water retention lb (back to the 12s in my closet).0

I'm down 35lbs with no change in size. My 34 jeans fit better, but I still can't make it into 32s.0

This is why I never use how my clothes fit as a gauge. I could easily go 20-30# and still be in the same size.0

It took me about 20 pounds to get down a pant size. But, I came to the realization that I was jamming myself into a too small size when I started...so I probably technically dropped a pant size earlier and fit into the ones I was wearing.0

Depends where you started I think. It took me a little over 20 to lose my first size, but that was in the Plus sizes. After that, I went down a size every 10 lbs. However, I started lifting heavy 2 months ago and haven't dropped a size since, even though I'm also down 15 lbs since then. My body shape has changed and I have inches lost, so I'm not worried.0
