So I can't seem to hit my goal using the tracker . It reccommends 37 grams on average using my 1830 daily caloretic intake ....I Always seem to go over , even with fruits.....suggestions? Is sugars from fruit ( I would be inclined to think ) better than say sugar from something like a protien bar ?....

Because I am not diabetic, I look at "sugar" as nutritional and non-nutritional. Fruit has a lot more than just sugar - it is full of great nutrients and fiber. As long as you are not neglecting veggies, proteins, calcium and other necessary nutrients, I would not worry about going over on sugars due to eating fruit. If it's due to soda or you are eating foods with HFCs, that's a different story.0

I go over on sugars EVERY DAY because of fruit. Generally, I look at my diary at the end of the day and take a look at where my sugar has come from. If 90%+ has come from fruit/milk/whole (unprocessed) foods, I count that a good day I guess it's working, I've lost 20 lbs since the beginning of March!0

Natural sugars from fruit are easy for your body to process. Food built by science is the stuff full of crap that your body is like "what the crack is this?". If you're not having a medical problem, than I agree with the previous poster who said that natural sugars are fine. It's the processed sugars that you have to watch out for.
I cut out High Fructose Corn Syrup and Corn Syrup from my diet this month (which, admittedly requires a lot of effort and thoroughly reading all nutrition labels or buying from the organic section) and have been doing great! I lost three pounds in the first four days I was doing it.0 -
I cut back on fruit in order to lose weight, but may add some back once I go into maintenance mode. Another reason I cut back is because I was using fruit as an excuse to not eat my veggies. The nutrients in veggies are great and you don't have all that sugar.

So It looks like sugars from fruits are not the bad guys ...sugars from things lke soda, syrup, candy ....are the bad ones to avoid...Guess I can live with going over as long as it's good stuff......0

I guess I'll be a dissenting voice here... I am very careful about how much fruit I get for exactly this reason. Sugar is sugar. I'd really need to see some research showing that fruit's sugar is somehow better for your body than any other sugar. I believe that fruits are good in moderation, but that you're much better off replacing that fruit you want to eat with some carrots or broccoli.
No, I don't have any studies to back this up, but my understanding of the way insulin primes your body to store fat is that no matter the source of the sugar you're better off getting less sugar.0
