Kind of hard to wear an HRM on my wrist because of the gloves. Has anyone found an HRM that works for this?

I use my vivosmart and just put the wrist unit on my tank top strap for boxing classes.

Can you wear the watch part elsewhere on your body or clothing? If you have a HRM with a chest strap as long as the watch is close by it shouldn't need to be on your wrist. For my fitbit during boxing I wear it around my tank top strap so I don't get steps from punching (I don't think it's accurate that way either, but better than if it was on my wrist)

Take a look at the Wahoo TICKR X. No watch, but links to your phone. It has a built-in memory so you can workout without a phone and it will sync to your phone later.

I think it would be hard to strap the watch somewhere on my clothes. The class includes some work outs other than boxing and they involve doing exercises on the mat.. some require to lay on back, stomach, and side. I cant imagine that being comfortable with a bulky watch attached.

@rbakedq that sounds like it can work for me. What kind of strap is the wahoo? You wear it around chest?

My class includes all the things you mentioned and I have never had a problem. But the vivosmart is thinner than my HRM Polar watch is so that size I could see getting in the way more.

Never heard of it but you are right that does look much smaller. Going to look into all these suggestions. Thanks :)

Think going to get this one. The memory feature is a really good idea. Do you know if this is the only HRM with this type of feature? Never seen it on any others.

Also do you find the wrap comfortable, any issues with it sliding off?
    Thanks for the help.

The strap comfortable. No different than any of the others in that regard. I don't do kickboxing, but I have no problem with the HRM sliding off while running or cycling. The strap is adjustable so you can make it as tight as you want.

i just push my band higher above the wrist and have a inner gloves that secure it place and then put the boxing gloves on top. Mine has a HRM in it, so its not only steps it counts. not very comfortable, but does me ok. atleast dont have to worry it will fall of or slip away.
