I had dinner at Cheesecake Factory last night and was pretty confident that ordering the lettuce wrap, which are my favorite dish at CF, would be a good way to stick to my diet. I check out the nutrition content according to CF's website before dinner was was shocked to find there are 1030 calories in the dish. Not to mention the sodium and claims of 96 grams of protein. The protein is what really threw me off. 96 grams??? It like 4-5 ounces of chicken and 5 crumbled cashews! Something is clearly not right with this. Not to mention the dish itself is basically veggies and chicken. I'm sure the soy, cilantro, and spicy peanut sauce are loaded with calories and sodium but yet there is no breakdown of these separately. And I only eat the cilantro sauce. It's a shame that CF doesn't do a better job of this because I'm guessing the content is way over stated on this and many of their dishes (salads) if they would just list the dressings and sauces separately.

I'm not sure what you were looking at, but according to their website, 1 wrap has about 1,040 calories (the appetizer is meant to serve 2-4 people). The calorie count is for the wrap, not for the entire dish. It doesn't list protein on their official calorie count, so that 96 grams probably isn't right.

If you're looking for a swap for this, they have a chicken lettuce wrap on their "Skinny" menu. It has way fewer calories.

It's crazy, right? If you do feel like making them, these are phenomenal and we've made them many, many times Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps. I haven't tried her Thai Chicken Peanut Lettuce Wraps, but I will soon!

Based on the way the nutrition information is setup, it looks like that is the calorie count of the entire dish.

That also says that every serving of everything on their menu weighs 1g; they are apparently super lazy when creating that list. I can't figure out how to interpret their calories for appetizers; it might be per serving, or it might be for the dish. But, if it's per serving, then there shouldn't be a serving size of 2-4; they should know exactly how many servings there are per what their calculated serving size that they used to calculate calories.

It's very possible that I'm reading it wrong. I'm not sure why they would count a serving as "1 wrap," and then give the count for the whole dish . . . but it's not a very clear document.

Well, they don't list it as "1 wrap," but as "1 each." They don't list how many people it serves exactly and the serving size of "1 each" is used for the sides too, so that's what led me to the nutrition info being for the whole dish.

I agree though, they were really lazy when they came up with this nutrition chart.

That's right . . . I don't know why I read that as "1 wrap." That makes much more sense, I agree that it probably is for the whole dish.

Cheesecake factory doesn't give their calorie info though, it's user-entered, so who knows how accurate it actually is...

That is their chart from the website LINK.

They actually put calorie counts on their menu in CT (we don't have any laws that require it)!

I wish CT people would update the calories for everything there, lol. Having to guess sucks. I've checked that website too but it doesn't have the newer or skinnylicious items, unfortunately.

I work at The Cheesecake Factory and even I can't get my hands on an updated copy of our calorie info. According to all 4 of the kitchen managers there is no printed info to show a guest if they ask. We do have very accurate info on our desserts though. It's not a printed list, but if a guest asks I can at least run to the bakery and check the labels. Our menu gets updated/modified every 6 months, so I'd use that linked website with a grain of salt since it's so old. Entrees come and go and even staple entrees that have been around forever get altered from time to time (ingredients get swapped, sauces get added or changed)

I will say that the thai lettuce wraps really are that high in calories for the entire entree. It's mainly the sauces, rice noodles, and chicken (it has a glaze and coated in nuts). The peanut and tamarind cashew sauce alone are without a doubt triple digit calories. Both are packed with oil and sugar. The portion size of the veggies is also huge, so over a thousand calories looks about right to me. The chicken lettuce wrap tacos on the skinny menu are just as good in my opinion and waaay less calories. I like the Asian kind, but the Mexican is also good. Hope this post helps!
