I ran my first 5k today and exceeded my expectations tremendously. I'm not terribly proud of this, but as I crossed the finish line with my fastest time ever, in my excitement I shouted, "F* ck yeah!" You can see by my face how stoked I was =D. Last July I weighed 253 lbs and quite literally had not been deliberately physically active since age 11 (1985). I have lost 85 lbs mostly with MyFitnessPal and started walking in February-ish this year. I then did C25k for 16 weeks from the end of May through the end of September. Today my time was 33:16 with lots of hills and brutal wind. I couldn't be more proud of myself and thankful for groups like this one. When I need a dose of encouragement, these success stories are where I come to find it.
Me at 250+
Me today:
Today I have a 336 streak on MFP. I still have about 40 lbs to go, but the number is nowhere near as important to me as how I feel about myself. I've gone from size 24 to 12. And I CAN RUN! The self-confidence I've gained by setting then meeting goals is incredible. Feeling proud of myself for real accomplishments is the greatest NSV them all.
I mean it when I say if I can do it, so can you.

That smile on your face says it all. Congratulations and well done, you certainly deserves this and more.
I remember the days when I use to run, the feeling was out of this world. That's my goal for next year to start running again. I hurt my groin this year so that was out of the question, but you have certainly inspired me to go for this next year.0 -

I found a full body shot of myself on my Google drive yesterday, so I had my husband take my picture last night so I could compare. I am still in awe. I can hardly believe that was actually me because in my mind, I think I always thought I was not that big. I now have over 380 days straight of logging on MFP and have some awesome running goals for this year (including a half marathon! Eeek!)
While I technically have 38 lbs to my weight goal, I am no longer feeling controlled by the scale because I'm more motivated by my falling pant size (size 24W on the left, size 9/10 on the right - women's, juniors, misses, I have no clue) and fitness goals.
2014's mantra was Start, 2015's was Move, 2016's is STRONGER. I am trying to be the change I want to see. I've got this, and you can, too!
