Monsters&Cola

I need motivation and tips on how to keep myself from drinking soda and energy drinks. That's my biggest weakness and knocks me off the boat every time.

I'm a huge soda fanatic. I'm new at all this as well. You can add me if you want. :)

It's so tough to just drop energy drinks and soda. They taste good and they spike your blood sugar. Everything about them is addictive; and since the negative effects are not really noticeable until our body has been pretty much depleted, it never seems really urgent to convince ourselves to "just not drink them." But I have found some healthier versions that are just as tasty but not so addictive or so harsh on the alimentary system.

Here are some common organic or all-natural energy drinks available at retailers around the USA.
    guayaki organic energy drink

    FRS Energy Drink
    Steaz
    Adina
    Amazon Energy
    Naked Juice Energy Smoothie
    Guayaki Yerba Mate Energy Drinks
    V-8 Fusion Energy Drink
    Celestial Seasonings Energy Shot
    Frava Energy Juice
    Hanson’s Energy Drink

Truthfully redfisher1974, although blunt, is probably right. Each of us decides what is best for our own body. If we feel that something needs to change, then we need to make it happen through our own will power.
.... But hey, I believe in you.

I never fully get off of them. I limit myself to one 20 oz Mt Dew a day and drink lots of water. Excedrin with caffeine is always near by if I start getting a caffeine withdraw headache. It's probably not the best method, but it's working for me.

Sorry but in my case I could only do cold turkey. Reducing/tapering off just never worked in my case.

The funny part was a couple weeks after I stopped sucking on carbs my cravings just faded away and later my energy both mentally and physically stayed high without these chemicals messing with my old body.

Young people can get away for a long time but my pay day caught up with me in the form of failing health.

While one is young is the BEST time to address these concerns.

@MichelleTawnya welcome to MFP forums and best of success.
