No, small sustainable changes are where it's at. Do you drive a stick shift? If you do, you'll know you go through ALL the gears to get up to full speed. This can be similar. Make a few changes; when that feels comfortable, make a few more. Keep building on each success.

5lbs a week is a gigantic loss. Your profile says you only have 20lbs to go, if you were able to actually lose that in 4 weeks, chances are you'd feel like crap, or maybe even damage your health.

Also, that week 1 plan in your first post isn't really doing anything to lose body fat over doing it without gimmicks, the drinking more water and cutting out fast food will just make you lose water weight.

    5lbs a week is unhealthy

You will rip through your LBM (muscle wastage)
You will store up potential long term health issues

    Please be sensible

If on the one hand you are talking about small changes, don't then have wild expectations

The minor change you should make is to weigh and log everything accurately to your calorie allowance

    That's it

You didn't put the weight on quickly ...1-2lbs a week is where you should aim

This also depends on the person

I went for it ..personal trainer booked, food logging started...learning curve started

The minor changes I made were to throw away everything I thought I knew about losing weight and just focus on calories

The moving more I saw as separate I think

You have the right idea -- it is not all or nothing. Find a comfortable place in between that fits into your life and that allows you to lose weight.
Instead of thinking about what kinds of foods, pay very close attention to the amount /weight of the foods.
