My Ipod shuffle has been flaking out daily, I may need to get a new player. I am not married to the iPods, but would like some real feedback from people. What do you use and why do you like it?

My sunglasses have an MP3 incorporated into them. Check out 'Oakley Thump'. They come in a variety of styles, colors, and storage capacities.0

Personally, I don't like ipods. I had one and will never get another.
I have had 2 zunes, both I loved. The only reason I got rid of the 1st is because my mom got me a new one so I gave the first to a friend. I think it's much more user friendly than the ipod.
Sony MP3 players are great too! They do not have a program so to add or remove songs you just click and drag songs to it, kind of like a flash drive. It's great if your computer crashes and your songs aren't saved because you can easily take them off the Sony and put them back on the computer (zunes and ipods are a bit difficult with that)...also the battery life is amazing! I drove from Montana to Seattle (about 10 hours) and around Seattle for a week before I had to charge it, and even then I didn't need to!
Any questions, let me know0 -

I have an iPod touch and like it well enough, but I got it at the time because I wanted portable interwebz. Well, lo and behold, less than a year later I caved and got a smartphone, rendering most of the features on the touch redundant.
So... if you are considering a touch, just think about whether or not you might get a smartphone in the next year or so.0 -

DITTO!!! I've also got a Sony MP3 player, and it's simple and does everything you need without dealing with software headaches.0 -
I would recommend the IPod nano w touch screen. Its a little cube and it has a built in clip. Weight nothing. and clips right on to your shirt. I LOVE love love mine. Plus if you already have had and Ipod, it will be easy for you to transfer your music thru Itunes.0

I have an iphone. Love it because i also use the GPS tracking apps like RunKeeper and Cycle Metre and C25K apps. So it does my music and is my personal trainer...
My parterner uses a water proof mp3 player that she bought on ebay and uses it in the pool when swimming laps!0 -

Hmmm, opinions eh? )
Well before recommending anything, I would need to know what do you want from it - i.e. do you just want an MP3 player, or do you want to do other things? If you answer the following questions, it will be much easier to narrow down your options:
1) What do you want the until to do? Do you just want an MP3 player or are you looking for additional functionality - i.e. apps, t'interweb browsing etc.
2) Is size an issue? Are you looking for something small and discrete or would you prefer something a little larger?
3) How much storage do you need? Are you looking for somthing that will fit a reasonable amount of music on and you're happy to chop and change the content quite often?
4) What is your price point? Are you looking for something cheap and cheerful or do you have deeper pockets?
5) Brand - do you have a particular brand in mind, or are there brands you really want to steer clear of?
Anothing thing you may want to consider is getting something second hand. There are lots of people who feel the need to get the latest gadgets and you could get a bargain by tucking in behind them and picking up their cast offs for a fraction of the price.

1. Just for music when out running, walking, doing dishes, ignoring people...
2. I do like the size if my shuffle, however I would be willing to go bigger.
3. The shuffle I have now is 1 gb, I would not mind more storage but not much more, 8 gb would be fine
4. price point up to $200.00
5. No certain brand. Before my iPod I had an iRiver that I was happy with, but it only had 128 mb.
I am not opposed to buying used or refurb.0
