I'm not doing Atkins anymore but if you're doing low carbing correctly, 2 -3 cups of green veggies daily and many of the low carb products add fiber to bring down the net carbs.

All this equals you can be quite "regular" LOL...

The common misconception about fiber is that the best source is from whole grains when, in truth, it is from fruits and vegetables. Our bodies were not designed to efficiently break down grains so, many times, they sit in your digestive tract building "bulk". Now that you have eliminated grains from your diet, your body is starting to clean house. It should only last about a week - if it lasts longer or, if you begin to have other "issues", I would either stop the diet or consult a nutritionist.

Best of luck in achieving your goals!

Add ground flax to foods or take a magnesium supplement.

    Both will be of benefit.

I do the ground flax and will have to add the magnesium ut this will slow down the going?

I though it flax helped you go more/better whatever....I don't need to go more!

    Yikes!
  • Yep as far as I'm aware flax helps you go. I go more now when on atkins, never once had constipation on this diet. Is it when you go you are very watery? I only ask as I can glug loads and I mean loads of water, well over 8 glasses. I sometimes find that if I am having alot my movements become more watery, so i cut back the water a little and it normally ressolves itself. Try this, assuming you are having more than the reccommended 8 glasses. If not maybe see a doctor as maybe you have a bowel inflammation at present. I have inflammatory bowel disease also and symtoms during a flare up can be managed even if you do have something along these lines. So don't panic, reduce your water consumption, see how you go, if no improvement seek a doctors advice. good luck

Oh sorry I misread the post!

Actually sometimes the higher fat content of a diet will uh, make you go more....

I am actually having the opposite problem. I go maybe once every 3 or 4 days. I am not in any discomfort but I am still concerned. If I drink some "smooth move" tea is seems to get things moving but I don't think it is good for you to use that too often.
