Birthday cheat day

I've plateaued for almost almost three months now because of my birth control. I've lost 70 pounds this year and tomorrow is my birthday. Everyone is telling me not to have a cheat day. I've only ever once in the year I've been on here had one cheat day back in june. Should I have one or stick it out? I'm concerned about the guilt I'll feel or that I'll gain a bunch of weight and not be able to burn it off.

I'm not sure how much you're planning on eating, but it's highly unlikely you could eat enough on one day to truly gain weight. At the most, you would see some water weight gain that would come off after a few days back on plan.

i don't like doing all out cheat days, but as it is your birthday i would make sure to enjoy yourself.. have your piece of cake/dessert, etc. just get back on track the next day :)

I'd enjoy my birthday and not worry about counting it.

BTW, your profile shows you as having lost weight during the last 3 months.

You can't and won't eat perfectly healthy every day for the rest of your life. Enjoy some treats now and then, especially on your birthday! One day is irrelevant in the scope of your long term progression.

I had a birthday cheat day and when you look at my charts, you can see the one-day spike. It's a single day. Enjoy it and get back to the program the next day.

    Happy birthday!

You're birthday right before mine! I hope you enjoy it. :)

Holidays are a small percentage of the year. Enjoy yourself!

First, don't call it a "cheat day"....that is sure to instill guilt. Consider it a reward or treat for having worked hard and losing 70lbs.

Second, log everything you eat. Just doing so will help you rein it in a little. Make it a special meal with a special dessert. It doesn't have to be an ALL DAY food fest.....

Third, enjoy it and then go back on plan. Chances are you wont see a gain at all....you might even surprise yourself with a loss!

I don't do cheat days. I work the foods I love into my goals as I can. That being said, I don't worry as much about sticking to my deficit on my birthday/holidays. Enjoy yourself and the food, then look into how you can tighten up your logging on Friday.

Enjoy yourself on your birthday. I thoroughly enjoyed myself: calamari, sweet potato fries, Cesar salad, 1/2 large pizza, and a bacon cheeseburger. I was fine. I enjoyed the food and time with my family, then hopped back on my normal routine(: a couple days of the year won't kill you. If anything I find those breaks helpful and necessary(:
