Weight loss tricks?

Hi there,
Never posted on this before. But need to keep motivated and seem to need some new tricks as I'm not losing weight like I want to.
I had a baby 6 months ago and gained 65lbs. 15 to go til in back to my pre baby weight. 35 to go til I reach my goal.
I workout 5-6x a week, alternating between cardio, weights and body. I apparently eat between 1000-1200 calories a day. But am not losing the 2 lbs a week. I need some pointers to keep me on track and start seeing results.

The tricks: don't do anything that you cannot sustain for the rest of your life. Are you planning on eating 1000 calories a day forever? Probably not. And you won't lose 2 pounds a week every week either. The trick to successful is a sustainable plan that won't leave you feeling deprived. And develop patience. From your numbers, it appears that you are doing just fine.0

Get a food scale and weigh your portions.
Are you breastfeeding? If so, you should be eating, at minimum, 1800 calories or your supply will suffer (this is not including exercise). If not, really try to hit 1200 minimum, without your exercise. You should be adding in at least half of your workout calories to keep your body properly fueled.
Also, weight loss isn't linear. Some weeks will be more of a loss than others, some none at all. Just keep with it.0 -
Thank you for the advice. I'm trying to maintain a lifestyle change. I'm not starving, I eat 3 meals a day & snacks, just trying to chose healthier choices.0

1000 calories a day is not enough to get adequate nutrition. A lack of hunger does not indicate that you are getting the nutrients you need. It just means you have trained yourself not to be hungry.0

"Starving" isn't about hunger pangs or anything like that. It's about calorie intake. You have to give your body proper nutrition. If you're eating 1000 calories and burning, say 500 calories with exercise, you're only giving your body 500 calories to do all of it's vital functions. That includes heart beating, brain activity, digestion, blood flow, hormone balance, etc. So if you deprive your body of essential nutrients, it's going to rebel. It'll stop non-vital functions first, like hair and nail growth.
I'm just trying to educate you on the importance on hitting those minimums. They're there for a reason.0 -
And bone loss. You will surely have that at 1000 calories a day. And I surely know that from my misguided attempt in 1998 to get skinny when I wasn't really even overweight. I sure did and I will be paying for that for the rest of my life.0

"Apparently?"
One trick is to get a good scale and me more certain about what you're actually eating. Then, eat at a reasonable deficit. Most likely, trying to lose two pounds a week that close to goal isn't reasonable.0 -
