Are you using the recipe builder feature in MFP?

Once you have the total calories in the entire 'meal', then you (ideally) would weigh the total, and then weigh your portion to figure out the calories in your portion.

Example - ingredients add up to 2000 calories in the whole dish. The whole dish weighs 800 grams, and your portion weighs out to 200 grams. So you ate 1/4 of the whole, or 500 calories.

Weigh each ingredient before cooking. Then weigh the final product. Either entering the servings as the whole thing in grams like 1226 servings. And say you eat 338 grams so that is 338servings.

I do weigh each ingredient......so I guess I shouldn't actually worry about how much meat or veggies I am getting, just like you said, 1/4 or 1/2 , etc...

Yeah, I mean of course if the dish isn't uniformly mixed some portions may get slightly more meat, some more potatoes (for example) etc...but at that point - at least in my opinion - you're just splitting hairs.
