Zumba Wii not loading... anybody know what to do?

Just bought Zumba Wii a couple of hours ago. Came home, ate lunch, and eagerly opened my new game. Put on my silly little belt, turned on the Wii, inserted the game, waited for it to load and... nothing. It's as if there is no disk in. You know how it looks when you haven't put the game in yet? Yep, that's the way it looks (and yes, I tried turning it around just in case I'd put it in wrong). I took it out, put Wii Sports in and that loaded just fine, like always.
I'm really not a gamer. I don't have Internet through my house (just an air card) so my system has never been updated. Still, my game should work. I bought my system a few months after they came out - not sure how old that makes it, but they haven't done a Wii 2 yet, so it can't be that outdated, can it?
What's going on here? Anybody know?

I am curious for an answer also. I had the same problem with our Just Dance 2. Thanks....0

Out of curiosity, I clicked on the spinning disc thing that looks like it's trying to load. That brought up a software update. I'm not sure how it can update software without Internet connection, but it seems to be doing something. I'll keep you posted. I really hope this works! I want my Zumba Wii!!0

Ladies, try hitting the reset button your Wii. Sometimes what generally happens is that when you are finished using a Wii disk you many not shut it down properly etc. Either turn the device off for a few minutes and then turn it back on or just hit the RESET button. The Wii should recognize the exact type of disk you are trying to play.0

I know for both the Just Dance 2 and Zumba Fitness, my Wii needed to download a software update in order to play both games. Our Wii is older, so I'm not sure if the newer Wiis would still be "behind" on updates, so to speak, but it usually won't play a game unless it's gotten the update for it. I'm not sure how to get around it if there's no internet connection though!0

Kim131 you may have to update your system. For this you will need to be connected to the internet or call Nintendo and tell them your problem. I'm sure they will be able to help you upgrade your system0

I updated the system by clicking on the "loading disc" on the screen. From there it told me it was performing a software update. Not sure how it did it, since no Internet, but it managed (maybe something built in the software?). I don't know, but it worked an I'm happy.0

Sometimes you have to reset it or just unplug it then plug it back in. Then it should work.
I think if you have a wireless connection for your computer. It will update from that.
I can get to weather and news from my Wii also.0 -
I had some same problem but it looks like my console has reached the end of it's life. I can't get it to load any games, everything comes up as an unreadable disc.
Update the system (can take 30m), hit reset and try again. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.0 -
Mine did that the first time I put mine it. Said it was "updating" eventually hit the A button and it said finished.. lol Then it took about 2 min for me to see the game able to select to play. Have Fun!0

You should take it back for a new one ... I opened mine and it would not read the disc ... It read the game that came with the wii but not the zumba. (both new and I don't have the internet) I took it back for a new one and this one works.
Hitting reset didn't help me. Sometimes the disc is bad.0 -
I don't think you should take it back, afterall it's opened. I have a Playstation 3 and some other consoles, no Wii, but yeah for mine to play my games and open certain things I constantly have to update it. The game is newer than your Wii, an update is definitely the problem. Try bringing your wii to someones house who has internet!! It's small and easy to transport0
