Threads disappearing ...

I've noticed in the last few days that a number of threads have been removed or have been locked or in some other way have been shut down. A couple of these threads I had wanted to "bump" to read later in the day.
I believe that I understand the rules or MFP. I understand and totally agree with the rules. I would never, knowingly, hurt a MFP poster under any circumstances. However, some of these topics have been very fast moving, interesting topics. They are appropriate for many of us who have been active on MFP for more than 9 months.
I am very sensitive to my many MFP Peeps. I try to take 1/2 hour 2 or 3 times each and every day to encourage as many of my friends as possible. By signing on at various times of the day/night I am able to reach friends in different time zones and at different points of their day. I try very hard to do this at least 5 or 6 days a week. This is not always easy or possible.
I rarely use the forums. I have plenty of active conversations with my Peeps. But now that I am closing in on a full year on MFP, I find that I need a little bit more interaction and thought provoking topics to help me maintain my daily sign-ons and logging, and help me maintain at my goal. I have lost 85 pounds and am proudly on maintenance since November, 2010. I think the forums are the place for this type of interaction. Many of us are beyond the WTG or Good Job comments at this point and need some further incentive to stay with MFP.
Granted, I don't know how "wild and crazy" any of these locked topics became. But I do feel that the Forums, especially Chit-chat, should be granted more latitude. Those posters who don't want to read the more "controversial" and thought provoking posts, have an easy option of not getting involved.
Just my thoughts ...
Just another point of view.

I completely agree. I have found that generally MFP is a pretty safe place...there don't seem to be many crazy/evil people on here *knock on wood* and most people are looking for encouragement and real friends. I don't think that we should be as limited as we've been although I understand that they are trying to avoid drama. Maybe we need to make up our own forum to post the other topics that we can tell our MFP friends about. I think a chat feature on here would be nice too, and even maybe a group chat so everyone is notified about new messages.0
