Today is my first day I just got the urge to do it. I been taking protein and all types of supplements all summer i just feel I need to cleanse never done it before. But im determined Im not going to go to 7 days if my body gives out but I think i can make it. I measured weight ahead of time and ill continue to be walking the whole time and 2 resistance training sessions during this but not too intense. Any tips from anyone has any done this anything i should expect or watch out for? Thanks

I don't know. Ask Jesus. He went on a 40 day fast. He may be able to give you a few tips. Good luck.1

What is your plan? Are you only drinking water? <confused>0
-
Any tips? Don't do it. Your body needs fuel, and you aren't "cleansing" anything out this way that wouldn't have naturally been eliminated.0

Does anyone have David Blaine's contact info?
But in all honesty, there is no reason to do it.0 -

My tip is to eat for those 7 days, and also, don't fast for 7 days.0

I've done three day, water only, fasts from time to time. For me that seems like a safe period. I like the idea of giving my digestive system a rest, and forcing my body to burn body fat for fuel, but I think the biggest benefit for me is mental. It reminds me that I am not a slave to food, that the world doesn't end if I don't eat lunch and that I am in control. After the fast I seem to make better food choices for awhile and have a better perspective on what food is really for.
Good luck!0 -
That sounds terribly dangerous and unhealthy to have nothing but water for 7 days. And to think you'll still be able to workout the whole time is probably extremely unrealistic.0

I did a cabbage soup diet for a week. At least you get some food.
Carrotts, cabbage, onions, garlic, veggie broth. Or you could eat organic kale for a week.0 -

I did a three day fast and almost crashed my car. Don't do it, it's a dumb idea. Muscle wasting is what you will get.0

You'd have better luck with this on a pro-ana site. -_-0

That's a pretty textbook example of disordered eating. I would not encourage this outlook, or approach to weight loss.0 -

There is no logical reason to embark on such an asinine plan. It is a week of starvation for no reason ... unsafe, unwise, and unneeded.0 -
My tip is:
Don't do this to yourself.0 -
Firstly, are you planning water only for 7 days? If so, sorry to say so bad idea.
I have done several fasts myself, not for health reasons, not to detox etc but as a simple reset, before anyone jumps on me, I have a tendency to binge and a 7 day fast (normally done with soups, and yes of course I have also done the master cleanser etc) but for me I simply do it to regain control, and for me it works, but I rarely do it more than once or twice a year.
May I ask why you want to do a fast? What are you planning to eat/drink? You still need energy, exercising is a bad idea and you really need to ensure you keep your blood sugar steady.0 -
Tip 1: don't do a water fast0

I think I'm going to go on a 7 day peanut butter fast.0

Don't. Do. It.0

Make sure that you have someone with you at all times to take you to the hospital when you pass out. Don't drive at all after day 1 and don't walk any further than you have to in order to get to someone else's car (since you won't be driving). Do not lift heavy things, as you may not be able to safely put them down again. Don't stand up too fast.0
-
Do you have functioning kidneys and a functioning liver? If you do your body is already "cleansing" itself. Nothing else to do or worry about.0

HA! This gave me a chuckle. In all seriousness though OP, going without food for 7 days is a terrible idea.0 -
I guide wilderness retreats, where people fast for 4 days/4 nights, while going solo at their retreat spot. We prepare them carefully, they do it for spiritual reasons. And they know they can ask for food anytime and we'll give it to them. We taper off their food intake a couple of days beforehand and taper off carbohydrates to prepare them, then increase food intake slowly for a few days after they come back.
I would really caution against prolonged fasting with no guidance and as a physical "reset". you reset precious little and you certainly won't "cleanse" your system.0 -
