Does anyone know which fitness watch is better Polar ft7 or fitbit?

What is the difference between fitbit and polar ft7 watch? I am getting one this weekend but I wanted to know what the positives and negatives were. If anyone has the watches please help me. Thanks!!

P.S. I have read reviews and it seems like everyone loves the fitbit

    I have a polar Ft7. The polar is very good if you are doing steady state cardio. That's what HRM's are designed for. If you just want to measure steps and other activities you do on a day to day basis than the fitbit would be better. Each product you mentioned is designed for different things.

    Polar is a HRM -- you are only going to get an accurate calorie burn(not exact) if you are doing steady state cardio. I use it when I ride my exercise bike etc.

    Fitbit -- used for tracking steps and other daily activities. So it will not give you an accurate calorie burn if you are riding an exercise bike etc.

    Both have their uses it depends on how you work out.

    Just my opinion, and neither should be used as an exact calorie burn measure, but as range of what you are burning on a daily basis.

    The two are very different, the FT7 is just a heart rate monitor(steady state cardio), the Fit bit is an activity monitor(all day activity) . FWIW the polar loop, a300, a360 m400 and V800 are activity monitors that would compare to the Fitbit Charge HR. Now if you're doing steady state cardio, the polar would be a better choice with H7 chest sensor, IMO

    The FT7 is a very basic HRM and it (like all HRMs) isn't a calorie counter.

    It's a good choice if you want to know / need to know your HR during exercise and looking for something that is compatible with the majority of gym equipment.

    If you happen to have an average exercise HR and do steady state cardio calorie estimates may be reasonable - don't expect any more than that.

    The more information you're able to enter into the HRM the more accurate it will be, but you have to remember it's all an estimate, from the calories you take in as well as the calories you burn.

    i never had the fitbit I've been using polar for years and love the stuff they make. I have the A300 and soon will be doing a upgrade to the A360. I have friends who have tried both and said the prefer polar.

    I have a ft7 and a fitbit charge HR and I like the ft7 better. my heart rate seems more accurate with the FT7 than it does with the charge HR during cardio.as for calories burned. the 2 are not even close to one another.I like my polar but I like my fitbit too. its all a personal preference as to what you want and what specifications you want in a HRM or tracker

    I see you have already purchased the FT7, I was going to suggest the A360, though. It does heart rate and is an activity monitor as well.

    I see you've already chose & purchased. I'd like to write this for the people who are looking for review. I used to use a polar but then boight a Fitbit charge HR. I love my Fitbit however in the last month it has been losing my heart rate during exercises and shorted me on my calories. I still use it for the pedometer and daily information however I went back to my polar. I feel like the polar was always more accurate with the chest strap . When you get all sweaty the Fitbit slides up and down your arm and that interferes with your heart rate pick up

    make sure you move the fitbit up 2-3 finger lengths up your arm from your wrist and tighten it if you can. also they did an update on their software. so if you didnt update it make sure you do. even when sweaty my fitbit doesnt slide up and down. you have it too loose if its doing that. you can loosen it after exercise if you want.
